He was born in Colcord, West Virginia on March 9, 1948 to Ervin and Brycie Lykans. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Jean Ann Dugan. He is survived by his wife, Joyce Lykans; sisters, Hilda Dill, Judy (Jack) Merritt, Valery (Tom) Andy and Cathy Lykans; brothers, Billy (Diane) Lykans, Gary Lykans; sons: Ervin Lykans, Ricky Lykans, Donnie Lykans and John Wears; daughters, Shelly DeHart, Kathy Wears, Teresa Wears and Jordyn Lykans. Ervin is also survived by 22 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He retired from Decker Construction after 15 years of service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in care of Joyce Lykans. Visitation will be Friday, May 6, 2016 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH., where the funeral service will begin at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Alton Cemetery. on May 5, 2016.1
