A retired educator, he taught at New Smyrna Beach Junior High School, Ormond Beach Junior High School, and New Smyrna Beach Senior High School. In addition, he owned and operated Vogue Cleaners in New Smyrna Beach. Buddy was a member of the Volusia County Teachers Organization, a life member of the Anglers' Yacht Club, and enjoyed golf, fishing, and boating. Survivors include his wife, Diane; daughter, Shannon L. Daniel of New Smyrna Beach; a son, Robert C. Hester of Oviedo; two sisters, Beverly Haverstock of Louisville, Kentucky, and Gayle Lowry or Ocala; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 28 at the Settle-Wilder New Smyrna Beach Chapel, with the Reverend Robert C. Brown, Coronado Community United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Edgewater-New Smyrna Cemetery. on January 25, 2010.5
