She had worked as a caregiver and housekeeper at the Brown County Health & Living Community for 17 years. Survivors include three daughters, Radelle Deckard of Helmsburg, Shari Chastain of Fruitdale and Diana Anglemyer of Spencer; one son, Thomas Likens of Indianapolis; a half sister, Mary Agnes Monroe of Nashville; and a half brother, George Monroe of Evanston, Ill. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Bond-Mitchell Funeral Home in Nashville. Burial will be at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom. on February 4, 2009.4

He had lived all of his life in Morgan County. Born Oct. 27, 1935, in Morgan County, he was the son of Arlie E. and Mary M. (Anderson) Hickman, both deceased. He married Phyllis P. Likens June 29, 1958, who survives. Hickman had been a punch press operator for Twigg Corp. in Martinsville for approximately 29 years. He retired in 1995. He attended the General Assembly Church of the First Born in Martinsville. He served in the National and State guards for several years. Other survivors include four sons, Wesley, Arlie and Melvin Hickman of Martinsville and Marvin Hickman of California; three daughters, Pamela Hickman, Janie Law and Norma Dawson, all of Martinsville; two sisters, Ruby Kenworthy and Gladys Thacker, both of Martinsville; one brother, Donald E. Hickman of Martinsville; eight grandchildren, Matthew, Brandon, Justin, Abby, Jordan and Austin Hickman, Bryan Dawson and Bryce Law. A twin brother, Marlin Hickman, and a stillborn child preceded him in death. The service was 11 a.m. July 26, 1999, at Neal & Summers Mortuary. The Rev. Mike Aldridge and Stan White officiated. Burial was in New South Park Cemetery. on July 26, 1999.3
