Steve was born to David E. and Ardelle Dillon Sheets in Casper, Wyo., on Oct. 20, 1956. He attended schools in Casper, graduating from Loveland High School in Loveland, Colo., in June of 1975. Steve enjoyed time with his cousin and friend, Allan Sheets, in Colorado during his high school days. He later graduated from railroad engineer school in Minnesota. Steve was an engineer for Burlington Northern out of Alliance for many years and later, for Montana Rail Link with runs from Laurel to Helena. Health issues caused Steve's early retirement at the young age of 47. Steve was an avid fisherman and collector of mid-50s Chevys and other vintage cars. Survivors include his parents, of Loveland, Colo; a sister, Carol (Alvin) Ahnstedt; and brother, Tom Sheets, of Loveland; daughters, Jaimie (Mathew) Doughty, of Pierce, Colo., and Linsey Sheets-Dedmore of Park City, Mont; two granddaughters, Tasha and Hanah Dedmore, of Park City; grandmother, Hazel Sheets, of Arnold; several nieces and nephews, including "greats"; and many friends. Special friends of Steve's are Kirk Schroeder, Scott McKeen and George Ostwald of Montana, Gary Luers of Casper, and Jim Sisler of Loveland. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Arnold Cemetery. on June 9, 2012.2
