Lewis, 87 of Caldwell, passed away Saturday May 24, 2008 at a local hospital of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. June 2 at the Caldwell United Methodist Church, preceded by a private family interment. Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Mel was born April 29, 1921, at Weiser, the son of Fred Lewis and Amanda Shultz Lewis. He graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Civil Engineering. He worked for the USGS taking water measurements all over Southern Idaho. He married Margaret Gaenzle on Feb. 6, 1949, in Weiser. They met in a Chemistry class where he was her teacher. He also taught Physics, Geometry, and upper level Math at Weiser High School and was recently able to attend the 60th reunion of a class he had taught. He served of as Weiser City Engineer , Burley for and the finally cities Caldwell where he retired after 25 years of service. Mel belonged to a several organizations. Mel was a lifelong member of the United Methodist (the obituary ended here) on May 30, 2008.5

Biddie Bell Whittaker Biddie Bell Whittaker Thomas, 78, of Princeton, WV, passed away peacefully, after a courageous battle with Giant Cell Arteritis, a rare inflammatory vasculitis, which attacked the arteries of her heart and brain, on Saturday November 26, 2016 at Roanoke Memorial Medical Center with family by her side. Born May 22, 1938 in Princeton, she was the daughter of the late Virgie and Jodie Whittaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Wayne Thompson Bauguess; one brother Joe Whittaker; five sisters Jean Webb, Barbara Whittaker, Sis Smith, Bonnie Varney and Hazel Jones. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother and best friend. Biddie was a small business entrepreneur starting and operating many successful businesses over her lifetime, including Thomas Ceramics, Thomas Roofing, Thomas Sanitation and Thomas Paving. She is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years Ralph Thomas and will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: Charlie Bauguess and wife Sherry, Mark Thomas and companion John Collins, Scott Thomas and wife Christy; one daughter Tammy Thomas; five grandchildren Heather Ramirez and husband Fred, Chasen Thomas and wife Jackie and Christopher Thomas, Brittany and Brandon Moore; three great grandchildren, Dhestyn, Saeghyn and Glaecyn Ramirez; Rhonda Thomas mother of Heather and Chasen; three brothers, Bud, Jack and Frank Whittaker; two sisters, Debbie Fowler and Sandra Brinkley. In accordance with Biddie’s wishes, her body has been cremated and her remains will be scattered to the wind at some of her favorite locations in the world. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2016, at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with Reverend Larry Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to service hour Wednesday.1 Her married name was Bauguess.1 She married Wayne Thompson Bauguess, son of Charles Martin Oscar Bauguess and Josephine Irene "Josie" Thompson.1 Biddie Bell Whittaker was born on May 22, 1938 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.1 She died on November 26, 2016 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 78.1
