Having retired in 1987 from the Brunswick Corporation, he continued to serve as a consultant for the Defence Division of Brunswick in Marion, Va. Preceded in death by his father, Hillary W. Paisley, and his brother, Ted, he is survived by his wife, Ann G. "Penny" Paisley; two sons and a daughter-in-law, David and Laurie Paisley, Cleveland, Ohio, Stephen Paisley, Blacksburg; two grandchildren, Courtney Ann and Michael David; his mother, Elen B. Paisley, Christiansburg; one brother, Lewis Paisley, Rocky Mount; a sister and brother-in-law, Helen and Eugene Wilson, Newport News; several nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be noon Saturday, May 7, 1994, at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Hal Eaton. on May 6, 1994.5

     Shelton Afton Quinn was buried at Quinn Cemetery #3, Magnolia, Duplin Co., North Carolina.2 He was born on November 24, 1930 at Magnolia, Duplin Co., North Carolina.1,2 He married Mary Barbee Green, daughter of Norvell Ryland Green and Ferol Harsettina/Hasselton Riffe, on May 6, 1955 at Pocahontas, Tazewell Co., Virginia.1 Shelton Afton Quinn died on June 19, 2015 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 84.2 He QUINN, S. Afton, of Richmond, went to be with his Heavenly Father June 19, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbee Quinn; children, Tim Quinn, Rebekah Widener and Brittan Quinn, their spouses; four grandchildren; and sister, Verlie Wells. He was a graduate of Wake Forest College, the Southeastern Theological Seminary and the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. During his 40-year career in social work, he worked tirelessly for the Baptist and Methodist Children's Homes of North Carolina as well as United Methodist Family Services in Richmond. Throughout his life he was a people person, an active church member and a creative artist who enjoyed refinishing furniture and oil painting. Family and friends will miss him greatly. A memorial service followed by a reception will be held 3 p.m. July 11, 2015 at Ginter Park Baptist Church, Richmond. on July 8, 2015.3

A private interment service will be held Friday, October 31, at Elmwood Cemetery in Enfield, N.C. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, October 31, at Antioch Baptist Church. Born in Halifax County, N.C., to Bessie Bennette and Spurgeon Earlton Hardee, he was a graduate of NC State University, where he received his Master's Degree and taught for several years. Next, Mr. Hardee joined Moore, Gardner and Associates, a consulting civil engineering firm later acquired by Black and Veatch Corp. He ended his career at Cavanaugh and Associates, retiring in 2005. Mr. Hardee was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Professional Engineers of North Carolina, the Consulting Engineers Council of North Carolina and the North Carolina Society of Surveyors. In addition, he was a member of the U.S. Power Squadron in Greensboro, N.C. and later Rocky Mount, N.C. and a member of the Enfield Masonic Lodge. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Green Hardee; three children, Susan Hardee Norris and her husband, Joseph, Joseph Earlton Hardee, Jr., and his wife, Mary Mitchell and Dorothy Ryland Hardee; two grandchildren, Joseph Elwood Hardee and Martha Patricia Hardee. on October 30, 2008.3
