Mr. Scott was born to Otho Landon and Nanny Bell Scott on Sept. 7, 1932, in Franklin County, Va. He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister. He served in the U.S. Army and worked for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. for 30 years. He is survived by his wife and three children, E.D. Scott Jr. and his wife, Jan Tuttle Scott, of Pinnacle, Keith Avery Scott of the home and Sally Scott Clark and her husband, Burnie, of Winston-Salem; four dear grandchildren, Drew Austin Scott and Jay Daniel Scott of Pinnacle, and Chad Ethan Clark and Jacob McKenzie Clark of Winston-Salem; a sister, Edna Burnette of Asheville; and special friends, Gerald and Ann Ibraham. He dearly loved his family, hunting, fishing, blue-grass music and tending to his pecan trees, which he enjoyed sharing with his neighbors and friends. He will be at Hayworth-Miller-Cain Funeral Home in Kernersville. The family night will be from 7 to 9 today, Feb. 21, 2003, at the funeral home. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, with the service performed by Chaplain Randy Hillman. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family would like to express sincere thanks and gratitude to the doctors and staff of Forsyth Medical Center for the tender, loving care he received while a patient there. on February 21, 2003.5

He was a devoted son, father and grandfather and was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Harrison Yokeley, on Dec. 25, 2006. Surviving are his mother, Donna Lewellyn Yokeley of Winston-Salem; his children, Barry (Melissa) Yokeley of Thomasville, and Dean (Marcia) Yokeley of Winston-Salem; sister Elizabeth Ann (Larry) Parnell of Winston-Salem; grandchildren Matthew and Hannah Yokeley and Haley and Tyler Yokeley; and nieces nephews, cousins and friends who equally mourn his passing. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 27, at New Mount Vernon United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Michael "Lanny" Lancaster and the Rev. Gary Kling officiating. A beloved cousin, Rick Yokeley, will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. on June 26, 2007.4
