He was retired from Valleydale Meat Company in Salem. He was also a member of Green Hill Church of the Brethren for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar W. and Lilly B. Owen; brothers, Samuel H. (Sam) Hubble and Willie (Bill) Hubble; and granddaughter, Erika C. Owen. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Gladys G. Owen; sons, Everett W. (Bill) Owen and wife, Christine Owen, and Tommy W. (Tommy) Owen; brother, James Homer (Cotton) Owen and wife, Ruby Owen; sisterin-law, Mavis G. Grubb; granddaughters, Jasmin L. and husband, Janon Davis, and Danielle K. and husband, Brandon Cummings; three nephews; nine nieces; and many friends. Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 21, 2010, at the Lotz Salem Chapel with the Rev. Shawn Tanner officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Burial Park. on October 20, 2010.4
