Mrs. Hearn is survived by her daughters, Deborah Hefner, Kim Orne and husband, Ronald, and Cindi Hearn; sisters, Patricia Milauckas, and Maxine Mardis and husband, Wayne; sister-in-law Pat Hobgood; grandchildren, Katy Hawks and Marshall Hawks; and 13 nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2011, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Markham. The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 6 to 7 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be sent to the United Methodist Women of First United Methodist Church Fox Hill. on December 24, 2011.¹

Orne and her husband, Ronald; grandchildren, Katheryn and Marshall Hawks; sister, Betty Caffacof; and his aunt, Elizabeth Mescoe. The family would like to thank the staff of Sentara Hospice for their great care and concern during Marshall's illness. A graveside service will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, at Parklawn Memorial Park by the Rev. Norman G. Tippens. (Age 79) Passed away at his home in McLean, VA on November 6, 2008. He retired from the Air Force at the rank of Colonel after 27 years of dedicated service. He continued to work in the defense industry in Washington, DC. Ed was also a dedicated member of the Catholic church. He is survived by his beloved wife Patti, his sibling Valerie and Joe as well as five children and six grandchildren. Family will be receiving friends at Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson, Arlington, VA on Sunday, November 9 from 3 to 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Monday, November 10 at 2 p.m. on November 8, 2008.⁴

     Maxine Ellen Hobgood was born on November 30, 1936 at Roxboro, Person Co., North Carolina.^1,3 As of February 8, 1958,her married name was Mardis.¹ She married Charles Wayne Mardis on February 8, 1958 at Richmond, Virginia.¹ Maxine Ellen Hobgood died on June 20, 2012 at Hampton, Virginia, at age 75.^4,5,3 She Maxine Mardis, of Hampton, passed on to a better place on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, after a brief illness. A devoted wife, loving mother and doting grandmother, she was loved and admired by her many friends and family. She was preceded in death by her son, Forrest Mardis. Mrs. Mardis is survived by her husband of 54 years, Wayne Mardis; two daughters, Dede Lukas (Jim) and Barbie Franklin (Rocky); a son, Benji Mardis (Dawn), all of Hampton; a sister, Pat Milauckas, of McLean, Va; four grandchildren, Jimmy, Lexy, Ashley, and Ian; one great-grandchild, Jacob; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. on June 27, 2012.⁴

Mr. Hobgood also retired from NASA in 1989 after 32 years of service. He was a Newport News native and lifelong Peninsula resident. Survived by his wife, Patsy L. Hobgood; four daughters, Jennifer A. Hobgood of Hampton, Johanna E. Bradshaw of Gloucester, Sidney L. Barkle of Chester and Rhonda L. Bridgman of Hopewell; a son, Mark L. Hobgood of Hampton; three sisters, Peggy H. Hearn and Maxine H.      Forrest Wayne Mardis was born on November 18, 1963 at Hampton, Virginia.^2,7,6 He married Crystal Hope Cooke on February 2, 2001 at Hampton, Virginia.⁴ Forrest Wayne Mardis and Crystal Hope Cooke were divorced on January 10, 2008 at Hampton, Virginia.⁵ Forrest Wayne Mardis died on March 24, 2009 at Hampton, Virginia, at age 45.^3,7 He HAMPTON - Forrest Wayne Mardis, 45, a lifelong Buckroe Beach resident, passed on to a new beginning March 24, 2009. Born at Dixie Hospital in Hampton on Nov. 18, 1963, Forrest attended Hampton City Schools. He worked as a draftsman for Becouvarakis and Associates for more than 20 years and enjoyed what he did. His love for his dog, "Blue" and his love of music managed to influence us all. His political views were all about patriotism, love of his country and all about all Americans not losing our Constitutional rights. He was a proud Libertarian. Forrest is survived by his parents, Wayne and Maxine Mardis; his sisters, Deanna Lukas and her husband, Jim, Barbie Franklin and her husband, Rocky; his brother, Benji and his girlfriend Dawn. He is also survived by his nieces, Alexis and Ashley and his nephews, Jimmy and Ian, all from Hampton. Forrest had dozens of special friends that meant the world to him, but two very close to his heart, Kellie Burchfield of Smithfield and Martin Huxford of Hampton. In honor of his memory, the family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton.
