Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Earl Wayne and Evelyn M. Almond of Bedford; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister and brothers-in-law, Helen and Joe Ratliff, Bobby Mills, all of Roanoke; sisters-in-law, Lorraine Hartman of Salem, Doris Duke of Roanoke; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2000 at 10 a.m. from Lotz Roanoke Chapel with Rev. Debbie Hutton officiating. Burial to follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on May 25, 2000.4

     Leo Garnett Hartman was buried at Franklin Memorial Park, Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia.3,5 He was born on June 19, 1933 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,6,3,5 He married Lorraine Mills, daughter of Archer Taylor "Archie" Mills and Ida Vinna Wimmer, on August 9, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,5 Leo Garnett Hartman died on June 27, 2010 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 77.6,3,4,5 He On Sunday, June 27, 2010, Leo Garnett Hartman, 77, of Salem, Va., went to his final resting place to be with the Lord. He was born on June 19, 1933, and was one of 15 children. He attended Red Hill Church of God which was his family church throughout his life. He was a dedicated employee of Graham White Manufacturing Company for 45 years and retired in 1994. Leo was called to duty in 1953 to serve in the Army for his country during the Korean Conflict as a Medic. He was honorably discharged in 1961. Leo had a passion for music which led him to teach his five children to play the guitar. One of his favorite past times was to gather his family together to play music and sing. He inspired and encouraged his children during their music ministry for the Lord. He also loved to hunt and camp every year with his son, Kenny, his grandson, B.B., and his son-in-law, Lynn. Leo was preceded in death by his parents, William Christopher and Eva Leoma Hartman; and five siblings. Left to cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife, Lorraine Hartman, who has been his soul mate for 57 years; his two sons, Christopher William Hartman, of Salem, and Kenneth Leo Hartman and wife, Kim, of Salem; and three daughters, Gail Hartman Shutes and husband, Don, of Goodview, Debra Hartman English and husband, Lynn, of Boones Mill, and Sherry Hartman Davis and husband, Mike, of Wirtz. He is also survived by a twin brother, Cleo Hartman; eight other brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Oakey's South Chapel with Pastor Harry Hudson and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park with Military Honors by the United States Army. on June 29, 2010.3

     Lynn Allen English Lynn Allen English, 68, of Boones Mill, originally of Bent Mountain, VA, passed away on the 24th of April, 2020. He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas J. and Vencie Holt English, brother Tommy H. English, and beloved brother-in-law Jimmy Lancaster. Surviving are his sister, Joanne Lancaster, children; Justin Lynn English (Tammy), Leslie Gordon (Adam), Tina Dooley (Mike), Jessica Morris (Sam), niece Tracy Lancaster, nephew Kurt Lancaster, and grandchildren; Allie, Shaelynn, Sage, Maddie, Evie, Lacie, Olivia, Pearl, and Connor. He also leaves behind his best friend in the world, his loyal dog Chloe. Lynn was a resilient man. He worked hard to provide for his family but he also liked to have fun and never missed an opportunity to share a joke or play a prank on someone. He was an endearing man who leaves behind many close friends. Lynn served 6 years in the Virginia National Guard and served as the Fire Chief of Bent Mountain Volunteer Fire Department in the early 1980s. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and was proud of his long career as a truck driver. Our family would like to thank the staff in unit 2 at Franklin Healthcare and Rehab for their tireless care and genuinely abundant love. Due to the mandates placed by our Governor over the COVID-19 Pandemic, graveside services will be private in Sherwood Memorial Park.3 He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3 He was born on March 27, 1952 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.2,4 He married Debra Edith Hartman, daughter of Leo Garnett Hartman and Lorraine Mills, on August 24, 1990 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.1,2 Lynn Allen English died on April 24, 2020 at Virginia at age 68.3
