Interment will be at Portland Memorial Mausoleum. She died of a stroke Monday in a Longview hospital at the age of 87. She was born Aug. 21, 1904, in Paoli, Ind. In 1911, she moved from Barnard, Mo., to Baker, where she went to school and attended business college. She moved to Longview, Wash., in 1926 and married William L. Bell in Tacoma on Oct. 1, 1927. She and her husband owned and operated the Bell Insurance Agency in Kelso for many years until their retirement in 1965. She moved to the King City area in 1970 and later lived in Tigard and Beaverton before moving to Kelso in June. William Bell died in 1989. Mrs. Bell had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Oregon City. Survivors include a son, Donald of Longview, Wash., and daughter, Beverly McPherson of Gladstone. The family suggests that remembrances be contributions to the Good Samaritan Foundation for stroke research programs. on October 3, 1991.2

Funeral services will be conducted from the Daniels Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 2 with the Rev. Louis Samson officiating, burial in the City cemetery. Born in Bernard, Mo., Sept. 11, 1913, he had lived and La Grande 18 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Union Pacific Jr. Old Timers Club, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and Elks Lodge No. 433. Survivors include his widow, Elsa, a son, Pat, and two foster sons, Charles and John Simpson, all of La Grande; his mother, Mrs. Emma Ford of Pendleton; a brother, Bryce, of Vancouver Wash; three sisters, Mrs. Lola Bell of Longview, Wash., Mrs. Faye Wohlford, of Pendleton, and Mrs. Louise White, of Redwood, Calif., several nieces and nephews. on June 13, 1955.5
