Don retired in 1985 from the US Civil Service in St. Louis, Mo., where he worked for 32 years. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Don was a member of the VFW Post 7980, Millstadt, Ill., Knights of Columbus Council 4741 in Millstadt, Ill., and was past president of the Belleville Exchange Club. Don was an avid sports fan. Don and Louise would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 13, 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, McCarty M., and Freida, nee Merlenbach, Muskopf; and his brothers-in-law, William "Bill" Wagner, Marvin "Hank" Becker, William "Bill" Lawless and James "Jim" Lawless. Surviving are his wife, Louise, nee Lawless, Muskopf; his four sons, Michael Muskopf of Flordia, Daniel (Jeanine) Muskopf of Millstadt, Ill., Larry Webb of Jackson, Wyo., and Garry (Roxanne Fisher) Webb of Lenzburg, Ill; his daughter-in-law, Yvonne Muskopf Troy, Ill; five grandchildren, Cody Webb, Alex, Danielle, Gregory and Aaron Muskopf; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Darlene Wagner of Belleville, Ill., and Geraldine "Gerry" Becker of Belleville, Ill; his sister-in-law, Rosie Lawless; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern Illinois, Catholic Urban Program or to St. Augustine of Canterbury in the form of masses. Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2009, at Kassly Mortuary, Fairview Heights, Ill.
