Harold Smith officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Memorial Park, South Charleston. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston. on September 16, 1998.3

     Her married name was Cunningham.2 Hazel Lee Welling was buried at Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.2 She married Richard Cunningham.2 Hazel Lee Welling was born on January 16, 1926 at Given, Jackson Co., West Virginia.1,2 As of January 30, 1946,her married name was Jacobs.1 She married William Leonard "Jake" Jacobs, son of Gilbert Lewis Jacobs and Beulah Macel Carte, on January 30, 1946 at Ripley, Jackson Co., West Virginia.1 Hazel Lee Welling died on November 28, 2006 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 80.2 She Hazel Lee Jacobs Cunningham, 80, of Charleston passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 28, 2006, after a long illness. Hazel was born January 16, 1926, in Given and was a longtime member of St. Albans Moose Lodge 857. She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell "Duke" and Lola Welling; grandson, Jesse Thomas; and nephew, Justin Welling. She is survived by her husband, Richard Cunningham of Charleston; daughter, Nina Jacobs of Charleston; daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Thomas of South Charleston and Nena and Raymond "Butch" Rife of Charleston; son and daughter-in-law, William "Jake" and Reba Jacobs of Given; brother, Charles Welling of Statesville, N.C., and Elsie Welling of Statesville, N.C; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her beloved cat, Tiger; and several nieces, nephews, and devoted friends. Hazel was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife. She loved her family and they loved her and the beautiful memories she left with them. A service honoring the life of Hazel will be 1 p.m. Friday, December 1, at Snodgrass Funeral Home, South Charleston. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Family and friends will visit from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Snodgrass Funeral Home, 4122 MacCorkle Ave. SW, South Charleston. on November 30, 2006.2

She was a lifetime member of South Park Missionary Baptist Church and a member of the church's Ladies Group. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Gilbert L. Jacobs Sr. She was a wonderful mother to three sons and daughters-in-law, Gilbert Jr. and Goldie of Charleston, Gary R. and Linda of Poca, and Roger L. and Vickie of Charleston. She had seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral service will be held at J.E. Johnson Funeral Home on Friday, May 24, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Kermit Monk officiating. Burial will be at Tyler Mountain Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held at J.E. Johnson Funeral Home, Kanawha City, on Thursday, May 23, 2002, from 6 to 8 p.m. J.E. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. on May 23, 2002.1
