She was born Dec, 18, 1919, at Pe Ell, Wash., to Floyd Rufus and Dorothy Elizabeth Thrash Baxter. When Ruth was one year old, she moved with her parents to Andes, in eastern Montana, where she grew up and attended Cherry Creek School. In 1939, the family moved to Yellowstone Valley near Fairview, and began farming under irrigation. Ruth and Isaac Clarence Robins were married Nov. 6, 1940, at Billings. They lived at Fairview, then moved to Troy. They had nine children. He preceded her in death. Ruth and Melvin Anvik were married July 15, 1972, at Laurel, Mont. They lived at Park City, Mont., until Melvin's death. Ruth moved to Thompson Falls in 1985, where she remained until her death as she loved living close to the mountains – gardening and growing flowers. She enjoyed raising her family, which she did mostly by herself. Survivors include five sons, Orville Robins, Kalispell; Dallas Robins, Libby; Lester Robins, Paradise; and Darvin and Dennis Robins, both of Thompson Falls; three daughters, Betty Davis and Edna Normandy, both of Troy; and Sally Gillette, Superior; six brothers, Carl Baxter, Fairview; Willie Baxter, Billings; Donald Baxter, Sweet Home, Ore; Richard Baxter, Superior; Norman Baxter, Fairview, and Louis Baxter, Sheridan, Wyo; and six sisters, Blanche Alves, Sacramento, Calif; Grance Allick, Kalispell; Evelyn Widerrich, Billings; Dolly Marker, Sidney; twins Donna Kanavel, Grants Pass, Ore. And Darlene Seifert, Park City; several grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both husbands, Isaac Robins, Jan. 22, 1950; and Melvin Anvik, Aug. 17, 1984; her parents; an infant brother, in 1940; a son, Larry Robins, in 1982; and a grandson, Kelly Davis, in 1975. Carl Robert Baxter was born on September 3, 1921 at Richland Co., Montana.4,5 He married Judith Kay "Judy" Sheehan on June 24, 1965 at Sidney, Richland Co., Montana.8 Carl Robert Baxter died on May 21, 2014 at Sidney, Richland Co., Montana, at age 92.5 He Funeral services for Carl R. Baxter, 92, Fairview, are at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Fairview with Pastor Roberta Pierce officiating. Cremation will follow services under the direction of Fulkerson Funeral Home of Sidney. Carl was born on Sep. 3, 1921, at the Niels Neilsen place near Culbertson. Carl was the second oldest of 14 children born to Floyd and Dorothy (Thrash) Baxter. They lived at Kane's Grove for a year or so before moving to granddad's place where he attended school at Cherry Creek. He helped his dad at the coal mine to get coal for the winter months. In 1939, Carl helped his dad move to the farm along the river, six miles from Fairview in the Yellowstone Valley, where the family began farming using irrigation. In 1948, Carl went to work for the Great Northern Railroad and continued to help out on the family farm. In 1962, his father sold the farm and moved, while Carl remained in Fairview. Carl was united in marriage to Judith (Sheehan) Engen on June 24, 1945, and together they had three children, Rhonda, Robert and Roy. After the marriage, Carl continued working for the railroad until Feb. 12, 1979, when he was injured and had to retire. His wife, Judith, died in July of 2010 and Carl remained in Fairview. Due to health reasons, Carl entered the Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility in August 2009. Carl was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge. He enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards and visiting and helping others. Carl loved spending time with his grandchildren. Carl died Wednesday morning, May 21, 2014, at the Sidney Health Center Extended Care facility. Carl is survived by his sons, Robert Baxter and Roy (Diane) Baxter both of Fairview; his daughter, Rhonda (Marc) Bourgoin, Spokane, Wash; his sisters, Evelyn Wiederrich, Billings, and Donna Kanavle, Grants Pass, Ore; his brothers, Donald Baxter, Smelterville, Idaho; Norman Baxter, Ronan; Louis Baxter, Sheridan, Wyo; his three grandchildren, Courtney, Jessy (Robert) and Tyler (Roy). Carl was preceded in death by his parents, wife-Judith, his sisters Ruth Anvik; Blanche Alves; Grace Allick; Dolly Marker; and Darlene Seifert; his brothers-Willie Baxter; Richard Baxter; and Dicky Baxter. on May 24, 2014.5

They then moved to Western Montana. Willie was a construction worker, following construction jobs around the state, building roads, pipelines, campgrounds, as well as numerous other jobs. Willie started his own construction company in 1968. Willie F. Baxter & Sons Construction. Willie loved hunting, fishing and camping and doing leather craft, wbich be enjoyed sharing with his family. He also loved watching sports and whenever possible, Willie attended the sports his grandchildren were involved with. In his later years. he could be found most afternoons rummaging scrape piles and auction sales, finding numerous treasures. Willie leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Shirley; sons Edward (Nancy) Baxter of Billings, Dale (Jo Lee) Baxter of Layton, Utah; and daughter Dee Harper (Ron Blood) of Billings; grandchildren, Cherie (Jerry) Grow, Sandra Baxter, Bradley, Shanna and Christie Baxter, Brandon (Jamie) Schmidt, Steve Blood; greatgrandchildren, Kaylee, Blake and Logan Schmidt. Willie is also survived by brothers, Carl, Richard, Norman, Donald and Louis; sisters Blanche, Grace, Evelyn, Dolly, Darlene and Donna. His parents, Floyd and Dorothy Baxter, and his sister Ruth preceded him in death. Visitation for Willie will be Thursday, Sept. lB. from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Dahl Funeral ChapeL Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 19, at Dahl Funeral Chapel, with interment in Mountview Cemetery. on September 18, 2003.4

Blanche is survived by 3 children, Darrell Rohde, Winona Mack, and Kenneth Mack. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands, Henry Rohde, William Mack, and Edward Alves. Blanche is interred at Sacramento Memorial Lawn; a Memorial Service is planned for mid-January 2011. Memorial gifts may be given to the American Cancer Society. on December 12, 2010.7
