He was 82. Mr. Dalgarn was born May 3, 1926, in Eufaula to John and Firsey (Mitchell) Dalgarn. He had lived in Miami since 1985, moving from Bartlesville. He was a retired school teacher and had finished his career in the Bartlesville Public School System. Mr. Dalgarn was a World War II and Korean War veteran, having serving in the Army. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the American Legion, Mulvane Masonic Lodge, Witchita Scottish Rite Consistory and Miadian Shrine Temple in Wichita. Kan. He married Mary Haner on Nov. 24, 1948, in Fort Smith, Ark. She survives, of the home. Additional survivors include a son, John Dalgarn and his wife Joyce of Miami, and two grandsons, John Dalgarn Jr. of Miami and Joe Dalgarn of Pittsburg, Kan. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Fort Gibson National Cemetery in Fort Gibson. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami. on August 11, 2008.4
