The family will be at the funeral home Sunday, August 5, 2012 from 2-4PM to receive friends. Mr. Haislip was a native of Virginia and had lived in Baldwin County for the past 30 years. He was the son of the late Waverly Haislip and Cora Tucker Haislip. He was a Veteran of the United States Marines and had retired from the Georgia Department of Corrections. William Lewis Bower William Lewis Bower, age 66, of Coal City, WV, passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, following a long illness. Born on February 21, 1946, at Coal City, WV, he was the son of the late Clarence Roy Bower and Alka Jane Bays Bower. Bill had lived most of his life in Coal City. He was very gifted at Dry Wall Construction. There are many homes, businesses, and churches, in both WV and out of state that showcase his work. No matter how he struggled with illness, he always kept his special sense of humor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James R. Bower, Clarence Bower, and sisters Mini M. Lacy, Rozella M. Carr, Virginia K. Cook, and Loretta F. Barker. His surviving siblings are Madgle W. Bower of Valley Park, Missouri, Gene F. Bower and his wife Joyce of Danese, Richard M. Bower and his wife Linda of Coal City, Eva J. Black of Statesville, NC, Annabel Williams of Valley Park, Missouri, Ginger J. Miller and her husband Lewis of Dearborn, Michigan. Several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. In addition to his family and friends, Bill leaves behind two special friends, Terry and Iris Lilly. Special thanks are extended to the caring staff of Bowers Hospice House, and his loving care giver Tammy Coalson. Funeral services will be conducted to Celebrate The Life Of William Lewis Bower on Saturday, September 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel in Beckley with Rev. Gary Eskins officiating. Entombment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Prosperity, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday. Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
