Thrash of Granbury, a retired manufacturer's representative for women's clothing, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2002 in Granbury. He was 83. Mr. Thrash was born July 2, 1918 in Hill City. He married Willie Mae Fisher Dec. 7, 1937 in Brownwood. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a life-long resident of Hood County and served on the Granbury City Council. He was instrumental in establishing the city pool, the Granbury airport, and was a past member of the board of directors for the Dallas Apparel Mart. He played golf passionately and was always seen with his Travis Club cigar. He was well known for waging a bet, win, lose or draw. He was an incredible storyteller and had an extensive knowledge of history-local and afar. He enjoyed training cutting horses for competing. He was a tremendous asset to Granbury and Hood County and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by two daughters, Wynoma "Noney" Jackson of Aledo, and Karen McLeish of Odessa; one sister, Sib Sawyer of Granbury; three grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and numerous other relatives and friends. Graveside services are today (Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002) at 2 p.m. in Holly Hills Memorial Park in Granbury. Wiley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family suggests memorials be made to Universal Hospice. on February 7, 2002.5

Memorial service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, at Glenview Baptist Church. John met lifes obstacles with courage and clarity as evidenced by his 23-year career with John Meyer Clothing as an acutely color-blind man. These early challenges helped reveal the inner strength and determination to meet life head on. He was a 2002 NTSU honors graduate with studies, which opened the door for his final career. A man of compassion, John found his calling through drug and alcohol counseling, ministering to countless individuals and making a difference in their lives. He will be missed by a wealth of friends and relatives. Graveside service: 3 p.m. Saturday in Granbury Cemetery in Granbury. Born in Granbury, Jeanie was raised by her parents, Ruel and Maudie Tomlinson. She had been a longtime resident of San Antonio, along with her beloved husband of over 60 years, Don Thrash, who preceded her in death in 2009. She was a graduate of Granbury High School and worked as an executive assistant in various fields most of her life. She was very active at Sunset Ridge Church of Christ, dedicating many hours of volunteer work on behalf of the church. One of her great loves in life was ballroom dancing, at which she excelled and won several competitions. When she was on the floor dancing, she was a vision of grace and beauty to the music. Jeanie also took great interest in the lives of her nieces and nephews, providing them with care, guidance and a loving heart. She helped provide several of the nieces and nephew the opportunity to enjoy childhood and build memories that they otherwise could never have had. The family would like to thank all who helped give care and prayers for Jeanie. She was a great lady, who had a warm and loving heart. She will be missed by all whose lives she has touched. Survivors: Sisters, Lillie Purselly, Laverne Brown, Dora Staggs and Nelda Addison; nieces, Vickie Monteith, Billie Swacker and Judy Dinkins; nephew, Bob Swacker; and many other nieces and nephews. on April 12, 2013.1

Those left to honor and cherish her memory are her loving husband of 26 years, Jimmy, of Kerrville, Texas; her children, Brenda Joyce McPeek and husband, Jon of Dunnigan, Calif., and Bill Hutto and wife, Casey of Granbury, Texas; grandchildren, Rebekah and Jordan McPeek of Dunnigan, Calif., and Lily, Kaitlyn and Paul Hutto of Granbury, Texas; her sister, Cindy Nobles and husband, Bobby of Abilene, Texas; brother, Trey Thrash and wife, Paula of Kerrville, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Debra and John Wolfe of Taft, Texas; nieces, Mamie Myers, Joyce Johnson and McKenna Thrash; nephews, Lindsey Thomas, Emery Wolfe, Mark Wolfe, Matt Nobles and Patrick Thrash; and great-nieces and nephews, Ty, Jackson, Madison, Jordon, Brinn and Avery. Shelly was a gentle, loving, giving spirit who will be missed by all whose lives she touched. Her greatest joy was spending time with family and friends. A celebration of Shelly's life and memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Grimes Funeral Chapels. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. on May 1, 2014.3
