     Opal Lee Carswell Opal Lee Carswell Foster, 70, of Jack Corpening Road, Nebo, NC, died Thursday, October 4, in The McDowell Hospital. Born in McDowell County to the late Thomas and Alice Haskins Carswell, she was a retired employee of Clevenger Industries and a member of Nebo First Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. Survivors include her husband, Junior A. G. Foster; three sons, James T. Foster, Sr. and his wife, Pat, of Charlotte, Wayne C. Foster and his wife, Katie, of Marion, Dennis K. Foster and his wife, Gail, of Belmont; two daughters, Patsy E. Childers and her husband, Roger, of Nebo and Shelia L. Smith and her husband, Randy, of Ball Ground, Georgia; 13 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Jim Carswell of Morganton and sister, Inez C. Ferrell of Indian Trail. The funeral was held Saturday, October 6, at 2 P.M. at Nebo First Baptist Church. Rev. Dean Owenby and Rev. Nancy Krall officiated and burial was in McDowell Memorial Park.¹ She was buried at McDowell Memorial Park, East Marion, McDowell Co., North Carolina.¹ Her married name was Foster.¹ She married Junior A.G. Foster, son of William Thomas “Willie” Foster and Esther Oriola Hamby.¹ Opal Lee Carswell was born in 1931 at McDowell Co., North Carolina.² She died on October 4, 2001 at Marion, McDowell Co., North Carolina.¹

     Harvey T. Foster Mr. Harvey T. “Pant/Pat” Foster, age 80, of Lenoir, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015 after a brief illness. Born May 28, 1935 in Wilkes County, he was a son of the late William T. and Esther H. Foster. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, John Wesley (Billy) Foster, A.G. Jr. (Gee) Foster, one sister, Norma F. Hicks and two sons, Keith and Billy Ray. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Wanda Harmon Foster, one sister, Wanda Walsh, 5 brothers, Paul, Raymond, James, Harold and Donald Foster; four sons; one daughter and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, September 13, 2015 in the Chapel of Evans Funeral Service with Reverend Roger Beck, Reverend Gwyn Johnson and Reverend Horace Minton officiating. Burial will follow in the Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilkes County. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM, one hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be: Ricky Foster, Paul Crisp, Gwyn Foster, Leroy Guy, Roy Guy, Gary Guy and Austin Guy.¹ He was buried at Beaver Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Ferguson, Wilkes Co., North Carolina.¹ He and Betty Louise Greene were divorced.¹ Harvey T. Foster was born on May 25, 1935 at Wilkes Co., North Carolina.¹ He married Betty Louise Greene on November 7, 1953.² Harvey T. Foster married Wanda Harmon circa 1981.¹ Harvey T. Foster died on September 11, 2015 at Caldwell Co., North Carolina, at age 80.¹
