In addition to her parents Mrs. Kilby is preceded in death by her husband, Paris Radar Kilby, three brothers, Wayne Hamby, R.G. Hamby and Paul Hamby and one sister Marshleen Billings. Mrs. Kilby was born in Caldwell County, on December 14, to Glenn D. and Annie Lou Cox Hamby. Mrs. Kilby attended Northside Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro. Mrs. Kilby is survived by one daughter, Delta Wyatt Geisinger and her husband, Robert; one son, Jerome Barlowe; one sister Barbara Bowlin of Lenoir; two brothers, Doug Hamby and wife, Barbara of Wilkes and Gwynn Hamby and wife, Linda of Lenoir; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 3:00 PM, Monday, June 3, 2013 at Oakwoods Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Duncan, Rev. Wayne Osborne and the Rev. Eddie Tharpe officiating. Mrs. Call was born in Iredell County, on January 10, 1931, to James Homer and Pansy Mae Hamby Scott. Both she and her husband, Howard had their realtor's license since 1960's. They initiated state license for Day Care Centers in Wilkes County. In 1964, she established Connie's Nursery School, the first state licensed day care center in Wilkes County. In 1965, she and Howard established Call's Realty Company. They developed Country Club Road Mobile Home Park, developed Quail Hollow Estates on Brushy Mtn. Road and established Call Construction Company. In 1983, they established Circle C Christmas Tree Farm in Ashe County. Mrs. Call bought and developed the Diet Center franchises of Surry and Wilkes Counties. While a member of Wilkesboro Baptist Church, she taught Sunday school for many years. She was an active member of Oakwoods Baptist Church. Mrs. Call was recognized by NC Governor's office and received the honorary recognition the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. She was an avid member of "Victoria Bells" Red Hat Club. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Call was preceded in death by a sister, Marie Scott and a brother, Fred Fair Scott, son in law, William Watts, sister in laws, Jewel Greer Scott, Lydia Call Shew, Betty Call Grayson, Ennis Call Jarvis, Minnie Call Jarvis; brothers in law, Hartley Greene, Lyle Baker, Barney Call, Willie Call, Lawrence Call, Buster Call. Bill Scott Mr. Bill Scott, age 88 husband of Gaynell Walsh Scott of North Wilkesboro passed away Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 4:00 PM, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Horace Minton officiating. Entombment with honors by Boomer Fire Department will be in Scenic Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. Mr. Scott was born November 24, 1928 in Stokes County to Homer and Pansy Hamby Scott. He was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church. He worked as a construction engineer for Broyhill Furniture for 47 years. Bill loved Boomer Fire Department and all the good it stood for. He served as President for 30 years, from 1973 until 2003 and as Vice President for 3 years, 2003 until 2006. Mr. Scott was the founding father and a life-long member of the department. He was the driving force that lead to the organization of the fire department. Bill drew the blueprints for the original fire station and worked very hard with the building committee on new ideas when it was updated in 1999. He could often be seen at the department fundraisers. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one granddaughter; Lori Ann Scott, two brothers; Fred Scott, Ford Scott and two sisters; Novella Baker, Connie Call. He is survived by his wife of 69 years; Gaynell Walsh Scott of the home, one daughter; Billie Jo Scott and fiancé; Terry Walker of North Wilkesboro, one son; Douglas Steven Scott and wife Sandra of Boomer, one granddaughter; Staci Hining and husband Kevin, three great grandchildren; Morghan Bass, Lillie Hining and Miller Hining, two sisters; Willa Dean Caudill and husband Gene and Ruby Chambers all of Wilkesboro.
