In her early career, Mrs. Calfee worked as an account executive for Byington Company advertising agency. Her community involvement included Junior League of Tampa; Chi Omega Alumni Theta Theta Chapter Advisor; Humane Society of Tampa Bay; Parent Association of Berkeley Preparatory School. She attended St. Johns Episcopal Church. The family would like to extend special thanks our cousin Rebeccah T. Getz, RN, CMT, of Charlottesville, VA, for making it possible for Betty to spend her final days at home with her family; Dr. John Lippleman and his staff; caregivers Debbie Douglas, Antionette Nurse, Marcia Johnson, Connie Rankine, Pat Woodson and Yolanda Mitchell. on September 5, 2012.2

Graveside service at Oglethorpe Memorial Park. on January 23, 2000.5 She A woman who died in a fire Saturday will be buried at 10 a.m. today at Oglethorpe Memorial Park, authorities said. Investigators on Monday were still unsure what started a fire that killed Betty Jane Alexander. Alexander, 65, of Hinesville was alone in her house at 22 Palm Drive when the blaze started. Hinesville Fire Chief Lamar Cook said the house had a smoke detector, but he didn't know if the detector was working. A neighbor called to report the blaze about 4:30 a.m. When firefighters from Hinesville and Fort Stewart arrived, the fire had destroyed the home valued at $60,000, Cook said. Alexander, a native of Fayette County, W.Va., had lived in Hinesville for 30 years. She was a retired nurse with 27 years of service at Winn Army Community Hospital. Her son, Tom Alexander, is the principal at Liberty County's Alternative School. on January 25, 2000.7
