She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and sewing. Chessie is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Naylor; daughter, Charlotte Cavender; parents, Ezra Dodd and Cluster Elmore Dodd; and eleven brothers and sisters. She is survived by daughter, Janet Amos; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Private family service will be held. on December 7, 2014.¹

She was a homemaker and loved to sew and read but her great joy was taking care of her husband and family. In addition to her mother Chessie Naylor, she is survived by her husband of 57 years Donald Cavender; Sons Allen Cavender of Ravenswood and Gary Cavender of Charleston; daughter Deborah Brunty of Rupert; sister Janet Amos of Pinch; grandchildren Misty Fouty of Ripley, Jeffrey Brunty of Fairbanks, Alaska, Melinda Brunty of Beckley, Sarah Brunty, Breanna Brunty, Dakota Brunty, Derek Brunty, Patrick Brunty, Randalyn Brunty, Paige Brunty, Gabrielle Brunty, Gabby Brunty all of Rupert, Daniel Cavender of Fairplain, Lacie Cavender of Sandyville, Derek Cavender of Ravenswood, Matthew Cavender of Sandyville, Michael Cavender of Charleston and Maria Tchernelkina of Washington, DC; great grandchildren Jacob Fouty, Mercedes Casto, Alayah Brunty, Kirra Cavender and Kora Cavender. He was born July 29, 1937 in Kanawha County, son of Nomi Sampson Cavender of Charleston and the late Andrew Cavender. He retired from Cedar Lake Conference Center as the Maintenance Supervisor with 26 years of Service. He enjoyed gardening. In addition to his mother Naomi Cavender, he is survived sons Allen Cavender of Ravenswood and Gary Cavender of Charleston; daughter Deborah Brunty of Rupert; brothers Gene Cavender of Elkview and James Cavender of Kenna; sister Ruby Newhouse; also survived by 17 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Charlotte Cavender, brother Billy Hershel Cavender, sister Hilda Cooper and a great grandchild Kaitlyn Brunty.
