In 1964, she moved to Washington, D.C., beginning a long career in the private sector and in several government agencies. She held top level secretarial positions at the Federal Power Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the U. S. Department of Commerce, the U. S. In recent years, Roger Christensen was a dear friend of LuVerne's, especially offering her support and comfort during her final illness. LuVerne was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Clara, Arnold, Florence, Norman, Cleo, and Grant. She is survived by her sister, Amy, her brother-in-law, Jess, and many nephews and nieces. on September 18, 2016.2
