     Ethel Mae "Jane" McGregor was buried at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia.^1,4 She was born on August 13, 1917 at Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.^1,3,4 As of November 28, 1940,her married name was Petty.⁷ She married Thomas Edison Petty on November 28, 1940 at Danville, Virginia.^4,7 Ethel Mae "Jane" McGregor died on October 24, 2009 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 92.^1,4 She Mrs. Ethel (Jane) M. Petty, 92, of 1001 South Marshall Ave., Vinton, died early Saturday. Oct. 24, 2009, at Berkshire Health Care Center, Vinton, after a decline in health for three weeks. Mrs. Petty was born on Aug. 13, 1917, in Pittsylvania County, a daughter of the late Letcher A. McGregor and the late Mary Elizabeth Yates McGregor. She had lived most of her life in Danville, moving to Vinton in 2002. She was employed by Thalhimers as a sales clerk for 25 years. She was a member of Shelton Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was married to Thomas E. Petty, who died on Sept. 4, 1984. Mrs. Petty is survived by one daughter, Linda P. Mayhew and husband, Ed Mayhew, of Vinton; one brother, L.A. McGregor Jr. and wife, Ruth McGregor, of Danville; two granddaughters, Kari Taylor and husband, David Taylor, of Vinton, Lisa Mayhew, of Bear Creek, N.C; one great-granddaughter, Erin Nicole Taylor, of Vinton and a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers, Annie Underwood, Frances Groff, Ernest McGregor and William McGregor. A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009, in Highland Burial Park by the Rev. Paul Johnson. on October 25, 2009.⁴

Born in Pittsylvania County, son of Letcher A. McGregor, Sr. and Mary Yeatts McGregor. He was owner and operator of the Green Tree Restaurant. Mr. McGregor served his county in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On June 7, 1947 he married Ruth Darnell McGregor who died August 19, 2013. Survivors include a son, Dwain A. McGregor and wife Leah. In addition to his parents, Mr. McGregor was predeceased by siblings, Frances Groff, Annie Underwood, Jane Petty, Bill McGregor and Earnest McGregor. Funeral services will be conducted March 6, 2015 from the graveside at Highland Burial Park. Wrenn-Yeatts is serving the McGregor family. on March 4, 2015.²

     Ruth Dean Darnell was buried at Highland Burial Park, Danville, Virginia.^1,4 She was born on April 24, 1924 at Schoolfield, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.^1,3,4,5 As of June 7, 1947,her married name was McGregor.³ She married Letcher Averett "Mac" McGregor Jr., son of Letcher Averett McGregor Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Yates, on June 7, 1947 at Danville, Virginia.^1,2,3,4 Ruth Dean Darnell died on August 19, 2013 at Danville, Virginia, at age 89.^1,2,4,5 She Ruth Darnell McGregor, 89, of 231 Ridge Street, Apt 120, Danville, Va., died on Monday, August 19, 2013, at Danville Regional Medical Center after being in declining health for several years. Mrs. McGregor was born in Pittsylvania County, Va., on April 24, 1924, a daughter of the late Lonnie Evander Darnell and the late Eunice Alley Darnell. She spent all of her life in the Danville area where she was co owner of the Green Tree Restaurant and she also worked as a clerk at Belk-Leggett. She was a member of River Oak Church of God. On June 7, 1947, she married Letcher A. McGregor Jr., who survives. Additional survivors include one son, Dwain A. McGregor and wife, Leah, of Danville, Va;and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. McGregor was predeceased by five siblings, Flossie Cook, Louise Darnell, Ollie Mabe, Bill Darnell and Harry Darnell. She was the last survivor of her generation. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at 2p.m. at the Wrenn-Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Reverend Jason Cook and the Reverend Bob Yeaman officiating. Interment will follow the service in Highland Burial Park. The family will be at the residence of her son, Dwain McGregor, 161 Alpine Drive Danville, VA 24540. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to River Oak Church of God at 120 River Oak Drive Danville, VA 24541. on August 20, 2013.⁴

     Betty Jean Myers was buried at Danville Memorial Gardens, Danville, Virginia.³ She was born on March 12, 1933 at Blairs, Pittsylvania Co., Virginia.^2,4,3 As of August 23, 1952,her married name was Lynch.² She married Joseph William Lynch Jr. on August 23, 1952 at Danville, Virginia.² Betty Jean Myers and Joseph William Lynch Jr. were divorced on May 1, 1985.² As of June 1, 1985,her married name was Swiger.² Betty Jean Myers married Albert Gene Swiger on June 1, 1985 at Danville, Virginia.^2,3 Betty Jean Myers died on November 28, 2016 at Union Hall, Franklin Co., Virginia, at age 83.³ She Betty Jean Myers Lynch Swiger, age 83, of 174 Virginia Key Trail, Union Hall, Va., died on Monday, November 28, 2016, at her residence after declining in health for the past several years.Mrs. Swiger was born on March 12, 1933, in Danville, a daughter of the late Henry Myers and the late Annie Myers Underwood. She spent most of her life in Danville where she worked for Belk Leggetts. For the last ten years she had resided at Smith Mountain Lake with her daughter, Betty Jo Jensen and her husband Jim. She was of the Baptist Faith. In addition to her daughter, she is survived by a son, Bill Lynch and wife, Nancy; five stepchildren, Billie, Janice, Gloria, A.G., and Jeff; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; ten step grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Albert Swiger; and a sister, Mary Garland Shelton. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday, December 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. in Danville Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends at the residence, 174 Virginia Key Trail, Union Hall, VA 24176. on November 29, 2016.³

Mr. Lynch was born in Danville, VA on February 24, 1932, a son of the late Joseph William Lynch, Sr. and Janie Mitchell Lynch. He had lived his entire life in the Danville area and had retired from Marshall Construction Company where he had worked as an estimator. He was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church. He is survived by a son, Joseph William "Bill" Lynch, III, and his wife Nancy, of Gretna, VA; a daughter, Betty Jo Jensen, and her husband Jim, of Union Hall, VA; a sister, Corrine L. Moore, and her husband David, of Ringgold, VA; a friend, Vickie Frost, of Ringgold, VA; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. in Highland Burial Park with the Reverend Jeffrey Wright officiating. The family will receive fiends Friday, September 4, 2009 at the Wrenn-Yeatts, North Main Chapel from 7:00 8:30 P.M. and at other times at the residence of his son, 537 East Gretna Road, Gretna, VA.
