Mrs. Seay was born March 8, 1935, in Rockingham County, N.C., to the late Ernest Odell and Catherine Barker Gammon. She was a retired paralegal and had volunteered with the Shepherd Center in Winston-Salem. She attended the Oaklawn Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. Her husband, Raymond Keith Seay preceded her in death. She is survived by her step-mother, Nora Garrnett Gammon, of Greensboro; daughter, Tina Jones and husband, Ted, of Reidsville; step-daughter, Phyllis Edwards of Greensboro; sister, Shelby Seay Smith and husband, Ben, of Jamestown; granddaughter, Rebecca Jones; step-grandchildren, Julie Smith and husband, Dale, Lisa Proctor and husband, Clayton, Phillip Seay and wife, Mary; nieces, Debbie Price and husband, Bud, Niki Drake; great-nephews, Jake and Austin Price; close friends, Billy Handy, Shirley Hines and Judy Decker; and her beloved dogs, Barney Seay and Shae Seay. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at Lakeview Memorial Park. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Guilford County Animal Shelter, P.O. Brande, four brothers and a sister. Survivors include two daughters, Pamela J. Seay of Florissant, Mo. and Joann S. Coll and husband James of Greensboro; a brother, Bill Jones of Pa; a sister, Mary Hooker of Md; four grandchildren, Christopher Coll and special friend Kelly, Alan Coll and wife Nikki, Chad Phillips, and Kymberle Vellines and husband Bryan; six great-granddaughters, Caitlyn, Kaylah, Savanna, Sierra and Grace and one great grandson, "little man" Nathan. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Forbis and Dick Funeral Home, N. She was born on November 10, 1936, the daughter of Ernest G. and Nora Farthing Gammon, in Reidsville, NC. She worked with the Greensboro Police Department as the Court Liaison for the Greensboro Police Department and retired after 25 years of service. Shelby was of the Baptist faith. She loved spending time at the beach and to travel. She enjoyed cooking and the time spent with her family. She loved all animals. Shelby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be deeply missed. Shelby was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Seay and sister, Peggy Seay. Those surviving are her two daughters; Deborah Price and husband Bud of Greensboro, NC, Kathryn "Niki" Drake of Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Jake Price of Raleigh, NC and Austin Price of Greensboro, NC; sister, Tina Jones and husband Ted of Reidsville, NC and Ben Smith. on August 26, 2015.²
