     Gladys Helmondollar Gladys Meadows, 86, of Kenova, WV, passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, WV. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova. She was born February 21, 1927, to the late Charlie Helmondollar & Verna Maynard Helmondollar. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Bennie Meadows, sisters Edith Stiltner, Mary Magdaline Cook, and Francis Bunn and brothers Wade , Clyde and Wetzel Helmondollar. Surviving is her daughter Connie Bryant of Kenova, WV, brother William Lee “Abe” Helmondollar, five grandchildren, Sharon Gilkerson, Diana Clay, Angela Williamson, Wendy Willis and James Bryant, Jr, and a special niece Maudie Kinser. Friends may call from noon until service time on Wednesday.³ She was buried at Docks Creek Cemetery, Kenova, Wayne Co., West Virginia.³ She was born on February 21, 1927 at Mingo Co., West Virginia.^2,3 As of November 27, 1943,her married name was Meadows.² She married Bennie Marion Meadows, son of Woodsy L. Meadows and Fanny M. "Ann" Keith, on November 27, 1943 at Pineville, Wyoming Co., West Virginia.^1,2,3 Gladys Helmondollar died on April 19, 2014 at Huntington, Cabell Co., West Virginia, at age 87.³

     Clarence H. Hendricks was buried at Huffville Union Church Cemetery, Terrys Fork, Floyd Co., Virginia.¹ He married Edith Ruby Meadows, daughter of Harvey Reed Meadows and Bertha Edna Price.³ Clarence H. Hendricks was born on December 18, 1908 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^1,2 He died on May 29, 1935 at Elon, Amherst Co., Virginia, at age 26.^1,2

     Grover Cleveland Bowles married Dannie Lillian Meadows, daughter of Peter George Meadows and Sarah J. Walters.^1,4 Grover Cleveland Bowles was born on October 11, 1884 at Virginia.^3,1 He died on June 23, 1928 at Staunton, Augusta Co., Virginia, at age 43.¹

     Nina May Bowles was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.³ She was born on April 21, 1918 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,4,3 As of circa 1943,her married name was Collins.⁵ She married Raburn Lee Collins Sr. circa 1943.^3,5 Nina May Bowles died on June 9, 2011 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 93.^4,3 She Nina May Bowles Collins, 93, of Roanoke, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2011. She was born on April 21, 1918, in Roanoke County, Va., daughter of the late Grover C. and Danie Lillian Meadows Bowles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Raburn L. Collins Sr; and a sister, Garnett Bowles Powers. Mrs. Collins was a retired Dental Assistant and worked many years for Dr. Hugh Lee. She was member of Salem Church of Christ where she was an avid worker in the church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. After her retirement, she became her sister's dialysis nurse and caregiver. She is survived by four children, Raburn L. (Ray) Collins Jr. and wife, Sherry, of Richmond, Va., C. Randolph (Randy) Collins and wife, Katie, of Birmingham, Ala., Barry Neil Collins and wife, Fredia, of Roanoke, and Mary L. Walrond and husband, Jack, of Troutville; three grandchildren, Jeff Metzler and wife, Renee, Cindy Simmons and husband, Tommy, and Cary Collins and wife, Tonya; two step grandchildren, Tom Walrond and wife, Susan, and Greg Walrond and wife, Hong; and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 11, 2011, at the chapel of John M. Oakey and Son, Salem with Minister Eric Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday evening, June 10, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Mrs. Collins name to the Salem Church of Christ, 401 West Main Street, Salem, VA 24153. Arrangements by John M.      Raburn Lee Collins Sr. was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road NW, Roanoke, Virginia.⁴ He was born on September 20, 1918 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,3 He married Nina May Bowles, daughter of Grover Cleveland Bowles and Dannie Lillian Meadows, circa 1943.^1,4 Raburn Lee Collins Sr. died on February 15, 2003 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 84.^3,4,5 He COLLINS, Raburn Lee, 84, of Roanoke, formerly of Salem, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, February 15, 2003. He was a retired Technician with the C & P Telephone Company for 37 years. He was a member of West Main Street Church of Christ in Salem and a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army. He was a 50 year member of Taylor Lodge #23 A.F. & A.M. Ray enjoyed many years of playing guitar with friends and often played for patrons of many local retirement homes. He played as a contestant and participant in the Galax Fiddler's Convention. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends. He served his church and community faithfully for many years. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloud and Mary Collins; three brothers, Paul (Sam) Collins, D.R. (Bobby) Collins, Terry (Sugarman) Collins. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nina Bowles Collins; sons and daughters-in-law, Raburn L. Collins, Jr. and wife Sherry of Richmond, Carroll Randolph (Randy) Collins and wife Katie of Burmingham, Ala., Barry N. Collins and wife Fredia of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Jack Walrond of Troutville; one brother, Donnie Collins of Eden, N.C; two sisters, Anne Faulkerson and Mossie Bateman, both of Florida; grandchildren, Jeff, Cary and Cindi; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at 2 p.m. at Lotz Salem Chapel with Mr. Mike Flinchum and Mr. Roy Miller officiating. Entombment will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to his church, Salem Church of Christ, 401 W. Main St. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:30 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the Lotz Salem Chapel. on February 17, 2003.⁴

     Walter Herbert Powers was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.² He was born on August 18, 1921 at Lansing, Ashe Co., North Carolina.^1,2 He married Garnette/Garnett Sarah Bowles, daughter of Grover Cleveland Bowles and Dannie Lillian Meadows, on November 20, 1943 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.¹ Walter Herbert Powers died on January 29, 1962 at Richmond, Virginia, at age 40.²

     Carroll Randolph "Randy" Collins was buried at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East, 1701 Gadsden Highway, Trussville, Jefferson Co., Alabama.⁴ He married Kathleen "Katie" Kelley.⁴ Carroll Randolph "Randy" Collins was born on August 25, 1948 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,4 He died on September 23, 2011 at Alabama at age 63.^5,4 He Carroll R. "Randy" Collins, 63, went to be with his Lord on September 23, 2011. Randy was born in Salem, Virginia on August 25, 1948 and was preceded in death by his mother and father, Raburn and Nina Bowles Collins. Randy was a graduate of William Fleming High School, class of '66, later served in the Naval Reserves before becoming a machinist at Norfolk and Western Railroad. He left the railroad in 1980 and moved to Birmingham, Alabama where he founded his company, United Turbo and Fuel, Inc. He was an avid motorcyclist and shared that love with his family and many friends. Left to cherish his memory are his wife and soul mate, Kathleen "Katie" K. Collins; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Tommy Simmons, their two daughters, Jessica and Kayleen Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, Cary C. Collins and wife Tawnya, his two children, Christian and Danielle Collins; brothers, Ray Lee Collins and wife Sherry Collins of Richmond, Va., and Barry Neal and wife Freida Collins of Roanoke, Va; sister, Mary Waldron and husband, Jack of Roanoke, Va; his mother-in-law, Virginia J. Kelley of Troutville, Va; sisters-in-law, Gloria J. Kelley, Nancy K. (Greg) Sexton, Shirley A. Kelley all of Troutville, Va., and Randie K. (Ricky) Morris of Birmingham, Ala., as well as many friends and colleagues, including those who worked side by side with him for over 30 years. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home with Chapel services on Monday, September 26 at noon with Justin Baker officiating and burial to follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.
