While on the LST 267, Bill was included in three major battles, being the Saipan Invasion D-Day, June 15, 1944, Peleliu Invasion D-Day, September 15, 1944, and the Okinawa Invasion D-Day, April 1, 1945, earning the LST 267 crew five battle stars for World War II service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. She was a graduate of Charleston High School and continued medical training throughout her career. Etta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved her pet dogs, Toby and Molly. Etta Mae was also an avid West Virginia Mountaineers fan and loved gardening, dancing and playing the piano. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Ellis B. Sizemore Jr., and brothers, George, Jimmy and Neill Shai.
