She was a member of the Virginia Avenue United Methodist Church in Bluefield, where she was a member of the Sarah Creasy Circle. She also was a member of the Shelby Heights Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Ruric Conner, sisters, Ebbie Carr and Zelma Guthrie, and by a brother, E. J. (Buck) Snead. Surviving are a son, Raymond R. Conner, Jr. and wife, Barbara, Blue Ridge; daughter, Susan Starks and husband, Jim, Bastian; brother, Tom Snead and wife, Catherine, Vinton; sisters, Nellie Altice, Roanoke, Hazel Hammock, Vinton, Jean Chocklett, Vinton; grandchildren, Cherri Roberts, Thaxton, Karen Starks and Kathy Starks, both of Bastian. Graveside services will be held at the Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. on January 17, 1999.5
