     Brenda Elaine Wright was buried at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, Augusta Co., Virginia.^3,4 She Brenda Elaine Wright, 63, of 171 Idlewood Blvd., joined her Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 29, 2014, after a long and valiant fight with cancer at Augusta Health in Fishersville, Virginia. She was born Nov. 26, 1950, in Waynesboro, Virginia. She is predeceased by her parents, Vernon M. Wright and Evelyn L. (Sandridge) Wright of Waynesboro. She was a 1969 graduate of Wilson Memorial High School, where she received a general studies diploma and then pursued a business school certificate from Valley Vocational-Technical Center. She was a member of Fishersville Baptist Church. In addition, she served on the board of directors for Hickory Run Townhouse Association. Prior to retirement, she was an avid worker for many years. She was employed at Waynesboro Community Hospital for nearly 18 years in the admissions and business office, restaurant manager at Western Sizzlin for five years and senior sales associate for 11 years at Grand Home Furnishings. Afterwards, she held several part-time receptionist jobs before her illness. Throughout Brenda's career in customer service, she was known for her ease in frequent conversation and simply loved being around people. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her constant smiling, laughter and great sense of humor, will never be forgotten. Survivors include her two sons, Whitney P. Cook of Waynesboro and Ashley R. Cook of Staunton; her brother and his wife, Gary E. and Karen Wright of Waynesboro; two nieces, Kascie Ellinger and husband, Chad, of Staunton, and Aamie Lindquist and husband, Evan, of Grottoes; five cousins, Ronald Via of Waynesboro, Douglas Wright and his wife, Lisa, of Waynesboro, Donald Sandridge of Gloucester, Lois Irvine and Sue Ellen O'Baugh, both of Waynesboro. In addition, she is also survived by her beloved dog, Prince, who she genuinely adored. Interment will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Ronald Via, Douglas Wright, Donald Sandridge, Harry Ritenour, David Price and Paul "Mike" Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Lois Irvine, Sue Ellen O'Baugh, Janet Ritenour, Dee Price, Bonnie Craig and Meg Shrader. The family wishes to extend its heartfelt appreciation to Meg Shrader, R.N. Augusta Health Breast Navigator, Dr. Shanique Palmer, Paul "Mike" Marshall, Ph.D., NP-C, staff of Augusta Health Cancer Center and infusion center, staff of Augusta Health Emergency Department, Augusta Health hospitalists and staff of Augusta Health medical/oncology unit 3 east.⁴ She was born on November 26, 1950 at Waynesboro, Augusta Co., Virginia.^1,2,3,4,5 As of May 22, 1976,her married name was Cook.¹ She married Charles Curtis Cook, son of Benjamin Howard "Bennie" Cook and Beatrice Poff, on May 22, 1976 at Augusta Co., Virginia.¹ Brenda Elaine Wright and Charles Curtis Cook were divorced on July 27, 1988 at Waynesboro, Augusta Co., Virginia.² Brenda Elaine Wright died on March 29, 2014 at Fishersville, Augusta Co., Virginia, at age 63.^3,4,6

Beckner, age 39, of Route 2, Boones Mill, died Saturday. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lillian Beckner; five sons, Tommy, Oliver, Jr., Michael, Carl and Harry Lee Beckner; three daughters, Misses Janice, Melinda and Melody Sue Beckner, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry A. Beckner of Hardy; three brothers, Cabble Beckner, Robert Beckner, both of Roanoke; Charles Beckner of Mill; four sisters, Mrs. Buelah Huffman, Mrs. Edith Russeau and Mrs. Hetty Jordon, all of Roanoke; Mrs. Lucy Bush of Hardy. Interment in Murray Cemetery, Roanoke County. on August 12, 1974.³
