She was a graduate of Holy Cross Academy, class of 1939, retired from General Electric and was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Mays and her husband, Steve, of Lynchburg; a son, Thomas W. Coleman and his wife, Connie, of Jacksonville, N.C; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.      William Myland Smedley Sr. William M. Smedley, 77, went to be with the Lord, Thursday afternoon, December 22, 2011. He was born in Springfield on May 30, 1934 the son of Joseph and Dorothy (Goings) Smedley. Bill worked as a supervisor for Van Dyne Crotty for 25 years. He was strongly involved with the National Guard, softball, and as a deacon at Central Christian Church. He loved watching and attending sports activities with his children and grandchildren. Bill leaves behind his wife, Jonnie (Campbell) Smedley; children, Jackie Venrick of Springfield, Tonya Fent (Mike Riley) of Marysville, and William (Linda) Smedley Jr. of Florida; step-children, Marva (Ted) Screws of Georgia, Julia (Jim) Valentine of Springfield, Connie Wethington of Dayton, and Kelly (Joe) Ruckman of Springfield; thirteen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, Jerry (Sue) Smedley of Springfield; sister, Judy (Roy) Malin of Springfield; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Hanson; his former spouse, Nadean Frock; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Joey; a brother, Jack; and a sister, Patty Sauvageot. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Springfield Regional Medical Center for their care and compassion.      Jonnie Ruth Campbell Jonnie Ruth Smedley, 87, passed away Saturday, April 3rd, 2021. She was born in Liberty, Kentucky, to the late George and Julia (Brown) Campbell. Jonnie was a very loving wife, mother and grandmother. Later in life she went back to school and became a realtor for Century 21 while living in Toledo. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, and walking at the CJ Brown Dam and Reservoir. She will be greatly missed by her children, Marva (Ted) Screws, Julia Valentine, Constance Wethington, and Kelly Ruckman; her grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle, and Joseph (Jessica) Screws, Kira Ruckman, Chelsea (Taylor) Heilbronner, and Kelly Jo (Shawn) Hampton; her great-grandchildren, Destiny Marshall, Emily, Jacob, Jamie, and Jon Screws, Chloe, Cale, and Callie Hampton, and Hudson and Milo Heilbronner; her first husband and father of her children, Marvin Wethington; and her sister, Norma Hansen.
