She was the wife of A. Ray Simmons, owner of a Baltimore electronics business. Mrs. Simmons, who was 59, died at her home Tuesday after a long illness. She lived at 6 West Melrose avenue. A native of Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Simmons had lived in Baltimore her childhood. She was educated at the old Girl's Latin School and at Goucher College. Long interested in art, Mrs. Simmons had exhibited, paintings in a number amateur art shows. She was a member of the Baltimore Museum of Art and had studied painting at the Maryland Institute. Her other main hobbies were bridge and golf. Mrs. Simmons was long a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, and had been active in the church's women's organizations. She was also a member of the Women's Club of Roland Park and the Baltimore Country Club. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Simmons is survived by two sons, Nicolas R. Simmons and Cary L. Simmons, both of Baltimore; four sisters, Mrs. John Sandridge and Mrs. Sue Gates, both of San Antonio; Mrs. Arnold J. Kleff, of Baltimore, and Mrs. Robert Grigsby, of Silver Spring, Md., and a brother, James C. Thompson, of Hagerstown. on August 22, 1968.³
