Survivors include her children, Barry (Holly) Parr, of Salem, Jerry (Liz) Parr, of Bedford, and Susie (Dennis) Hall, of Salem; grandchildren, Angie (James) Wooten, Nikki (Jon) Atkinson, Sarah Parr, Lisa (Ben) Rice, Jacob (Carisa) Parr, Nathan (Rachel) Parr; great-grandchildren, Brooke (Dan) Ellia, Brittney McDaniel, Jack, Charlie, Ella, and Max Atkinson, Aidan, Micah, and Lainey Rice; step great-great grandsons, Bryson and Camden Ellia; sister-in-law, Marie Gibson of Ormond Beach, FL; special cousin, Doris Roupe; and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Words of appreciation are extended to the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice and Sherry Sandoval, Phoebe Salvat, and Sonya Bonds for their care of Audrey over the last two months, and to Becky Rea who was her friend and caregiver for more than two years. Audrey worked for the Veterans Administration Regional Office until retirement in 1981. She was especially proud of her time spent as a member of The Gideon Women's Auxiliary and her volunteer work at the Roanoke County Jail where she played the piano for chapel services and taught a Ladies Bible Study. Audrey enjoyed many years of travel with her husband and siblings and was a woman of great faith and a caring spirit. The greatest love of her life was her family. Prior to his death, Audrey and Allie were active at West Salem Baptist Church. He is survived by daughters, Anna Walters and Kristi Ferro; sons, Richard (Lynda) and Kurt Gearheart; and nine grandchildren. Charles Edward Gearheart, 83, of Cross Lanes, was called home by the Lord, to be reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Deloris, and their daughters, Drema Lee Smith and Debbie Ann Brown on Thursday, November 1, 2018. Charlie was a devoted family man and never knew a stranger. You could always count on him to tell a story to make everyone smile and laugh. Charles is survived by his son, Terry (Donna) Gearheart; grandchildren, Amanda (Kevin) Rainwater, Sarah (Chad) Berry, Emily (James) Parsons, Lee (Dawn) Gearheart, Josh and Zach Brewer; great-grandchildren, Michael, and Kylee Ann Berry, Ethan Parsons, Adam and Aaron Gearheart; sister, Betty Perfin and many other family members. He later moved to Tampa/St. Petersburg, FL, until his illness became too severe and moved to Kenosha with his brother and sister-in-law. Kurt loved spending time with his daughter Miranda and enjoyed drag racing, riding motorcycles, working on cars and boating. Surviving Kurt are his daughter, Miranda Holland of Ft. Riley, KS; his brother, Rich (Lynda) Gearheart of Kenosha; two sisters, Anna Walters of Lyons, IL, and Kristi (Chad) Lyle of Wheaton, IL; and his maternal grandmother, Lorrine Neimi of Port Richey, FL. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
