Visitation for Scotty will be from 4 to 6 P.M. Thursday, July 14 in the Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home. The Funeral will follow at 6:00 PM with Pastor Jonathan McGuire officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas. Clyde Joseph Scott Jr. was born Wednesday, October 9, 1935 in Kansas City, Kansas to Clyde Joseph and Opal Marie (Houts) Scott. He graduated from the Argentine High School in Kansas City, KS and attended the Community College with a degree in business and music. After school he lived in KC, KS and worked at Phillips Petroleum until he went into the U. S. Army. After the service, he moved back to KC, KS and worked for the Board of Public Utilities. He started as a dispatcher and worked his way up to a purchasing agent. He met Wanda B. Matthews at the Fraternal Order of the Eagles (F.O.E) in 1983. They were married August 27, 1984 in Virginia Beach, VA. He retired from Public Utilities on July 1, 1996 and moved to Rockaway Beach, MO the same year. Scotty was a very energetic individual. He was a member of the F.O.E for many years and served as the Kansas State President for Area 87. He was also a member of the American Legion and was very big in hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed hunting pheasants. He was an avid golfer and bowler. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and cheered for the KC Chiefs and Jayhawkers. He was as member of the Bridge of Faith Baptist Church of Rockaway Beach. He had a mischievous streak and was slightly ornery at times, but was well liked by all. He enjoyed delighting his friends with tall tales. He was very patriotic and demonstrated his strong faith by being devoted to his community, church and family. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Scott of Rockaway Beach; six sons, George Scott and wife, Jerri of Oakgrove, MO, Doug Scott of Williamsburg, VA, Don Scott of Jacksonville, NC, Dennis Scott of Oakgrove, MO, Rick Haynes and wife, Patti of Rockaway Beach, Hugh Haynes and wife, Leah of Kansas City, KS; three daughters, Kathy Longmire and husband, Gary of Virginia Beach, VA, Mellissa Scott of Rockaway Beach, Sheila Carley of Forsyth; ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Jerry Haynes.⁵ He married Teresa G. They moved to Placerville in 1995. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patti and Jim Kroeker and Mickey and Mike Cooper, all of Placerville; and five grandchildren. on April 10, 1996.³

     James Edward Rhoades was buried at Fairview Cemetery, Lincoln, Lancaster Co., Nebraska.² He was born on July 6, 1948 at Lincoln, Lancaster Co., Nebraska.^2,3,4 He died on June 7, 1950 at Westboro, Atchison Co., Missouri, at age 1.^2,3,4 He James Edward Rhoades was born in Lincoln, Nebraska July 6, 1943 to Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Rhoades. He moved with his parents to Westbureo, Missouri in the fall of 1949. He departed this life on June 7, 1950 at the age of 1 year 11 months and 1 day, when he accidently fell into a stock water tank and drowned. He leaves to mourn his loss besides his parents, one brother, Stephen Gail, age 2 months; one great-grandmother, Mrs Emma Nace, Des Moines, Iowa; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rhoades, Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Mr. and Mrs. James Stephens of Lincoln. Interment was in Havelock cemetery. Pallbearers were Rodger Schutte, Carl Wright, Wayne DeBord, and Warren DeBord. on June 15, 1950.⁴
