     Wanda Marie Dowdy Wanda Marie Lawson, age 77, of Christiansburg, died, Tuesday, February 16, 2021, at Lewis Gale Hospital Montgomery. She was born in Christiansburg, VA on January 13, 1944 to the late Edward and Loella Slusser Dowdy. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Leighton Dowdy; sister, Thelma Linkous; best friend, Sandra Lawson. She was a member of New Hope Church of God. She enjoyed gardening and growing flowers. Wanda enjoyed living on James Street with her wonderful friends and family. But, above all else, she loved her children, grandchildren, and adopted grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Manuel Lawson; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Lawson and Mark Robertson; sons and daughters-in-law, Mike and Jeanette Lawson, Terry and Tammie Lawson; grandchildren, Mikey, Seth, Derek, Hunter, Justin, Andrew, Michael, Brittany, Zach, Jocey; many great-grandchildren; brother, Larry Dowdy and Mary Stephens; special nephew, Tony Harris; special dog, Charlie. While serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was awarded several accommodations. He worked at NAS Meridian and had at total of 33 years federal service. Mr. Hogan was a Mason, Scottish Rite and Shriner. He was also an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Hogan of Meridian; son, Mike Hogan of Meridian; daughter, Robin Polk and her husband, Dale, of Collinsville; grandsons, Patrick and Sean Hogan; granddaughter, Kaitlin Polk; great-granddaughter, Sydney Hogan; sisters, Eulesta Bryant of Roanoke, Va. and Edith Mae Patterson and her husband, Sonny, of Lyndhurst, Va; and numerous nieces and nephews.
