He served his country during World War II in the Philippines with the United States Navy. Junior enjoyed carpentry, bird watching and spending time with his family. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Janet Blackwell Hicks; his sons and daughters-in-law, Howard and Debbie Hicks of Franklin, Tenn., Roger and Kathy Hicks of Culloden, Gary and Vicki Hicks of Eleanor; his brother and sister-in-law, Avon and Mary Hicks of Canton, Ohio; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Gertie Faye and James B. Blackwell of Gahanna, Ohio, Avis and Douglas Ramey of Hurricane, Deloris and Jim Webb of Parkersburg. Junior also loved his grandchildren, Jeremy, Joey, Justin, Janae, and Heather Hicks, Jennifer Danner and Crissy Craddock; and his great-grandchildren, Jason and Faith Craddock and Brittany, Logan, Joseph and Kieran Hicks. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, March 24, at Bartlett Chapman Funeral Home, 409 Sixth Ave., St. Albans, with the Rev. Brian King officiating. Entombment will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. on March 23, 2005.2

Jr. of Nitro; and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret Richardson of St. Albans, Mrs. Janet Hicks of Hurricane and Mrs. Carrie Walker of California. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Bartlett Funeral Home with the Rev. Arnold Williams and Rev. Ned Crouch officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park at St. Albans. The body is at the funeral home. on January 2, 1959.6
