Hollandsworth, 76, of 910 Owen St., Martinsville, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2010, at his home. He was born Aug. 31, 1933, in Franklin County to Alfred Freddie Hollandsworth and Ethel Prillaman Hollandsworth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nellie Wilson. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from Dupont after 29 years as a machine operator. He was a member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church in Martinsville. Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Shively Hollandsworth of the home; three sons, Phillip Hollandsworth of Rural Hall, N.C., Stephen M. Hollandsworth of Hampton and David Hollandsworth of Walnut Cove, N.C; a sister, Mattie Robertson of Bassett; a brother, Joe Hollandsworth of Martinsville; and three grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Norris Funeral Services in Martinsville with the Revs. Lewis Harris and William Shively officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Park in Bassett. The family will receive friends for an hour before the service Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the home. on August 20, 2010.3

She was born March 25, 1915, in Franklin County to Robert Edward Carter and Lucy Mullins Carter. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Henry Wilson Prillaman; six sisters, Elsie Guilliams, Roxie Carter, Lessie Via, Martha Johnson and two infants; and three brothers, Harry Carter, Lindsay Carter and Grover Carter. She had worked at Lacy Manufacturing and was a member of Fort Trial Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Doris Hundley of Bassett and Joan Barnes of Martinsville; two sons, Lowell Prillaman of Bassett and Curtis Prillaman of Douglasville, Ga; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Collinsville-McKee-Stone Funeral Home, Bassett, with Dr. Joe McNeil officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home on Oak Level Road. Memorials may be made to Fort Trial Baptist Church or the American Cancer Society, 1079 Spruce St., Martinsville, Va. 24112. on August 12, 2007.2
