Hulings died on August 23, 1912 at Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania, at age 39.3 She The death of Mrs. Mary E. Hulings, wife of Mr. Harry Hulings, of Clarion, Pa., which occurred at her home Friday, August 23, 1912, has cast a gloom over the community in which she has been held in universally high esteem. She had been afflicted with goiter and recently it assumed a dangerous condition and the effects finally terminated her life. Mrs. Hulings was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hulings and was born June 23, 1873, in Liberty Center, Iowa. With her parents she came to and lived at Redclyffe, Forest county, for a number of years. On October 10, 1890, she was united in marriage with Mr. Harry Hulings, at Tionesta. Mr. Hulings and nine children survive, namely: Harry, Jr., Thomas C., Mary, Agnes, Glenn, Maude, William, Joseph and Maxine. Two children died in infancy. Mrs. Hulings was a sweet spirited christian lady and was a member of the Presbyterian church. The funeral was held from her late home on Monday last with Rev. B. F. Delo, of Clarion, officiating in the absence of her pastor, and her body was laid to rest in the Clarion cemetery. The bereaved husband and children have the deepest sympathy of the entire community. on August 29, 1912.3

Bloom, died at 8:20 a.m. Sunday (May 26, 1963). She was a resident of Jamestown since 1937. Mrs. Bloom was born May 1, 1886, in Red Cliff, Pa., the daughter of John W. and Mary Sophia Maze Hulings and spent most of her early life in Marienville, Pa. Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, William A. Greenawalt, River Edge, N.J; Willis Greenawalt, Jamestown; and David L. Bloom, Jamestown; three daughters, Mrs. Clarence P. Hull, Waterford, Pa; Mrs. E. E Rogers, Oil City, Pa; and Mrs. Albert Barton, Whiteville, N.C; two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Abate, Pillston, Pa; and Mrs. Jack DeHeart, Schenectady; and two brothers, Forest Hulings, Erie, Pa; and Lawrence B. Hulings, Cottage Park, Lakewood. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Marguerite Bloom. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Henderson- incoln Funeral Home. Coroner Lowrey, the jury, and witnesses were to meet at the Pearson mortuary late this afternoon. Mrs. Conrad E. Swanson, 37, of an Elk township supervisor, was the victim of the train-truck collision. She died in Peterson's ambulance the way to Warren General hospital. Peter Specht, 65, also of Priest Hollow, driver of the truck, TV as not seriously injured when a north-bound passenger train hit his truck. The crash occurred east of the covered bridge in Russell on the Scandia road. Funeral services for Mrs. Swanson will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, from the Mission at Scandia, with the Rev. J. H. Lundgren officiating. Burial at Scandia. Conrad E. Swanson overtook the ambulance on its way to Warren, was with his wife when she died. Specht was hailed by a friend he drove the truck toward the crossing, according to Corporal W. J. Bynane of the state highway patrol. He turned to get the message, it was and faced again to the front just time to swerve the truck in the direction the train was going when he saw the crash was inevitable. The glancing impact threw both occupants of the truck to the ground. Mrs. Swanson's skull was fractured in the fall, and Specht was severely bruised on his left side and arm. Mrs. Swanson was picked up in Russell by Specht, a neighbor when he drove through Russell on his home. They were neighbors at Priest Hollow, and Specht thought to save Mrs. Swanson the walk home. Dr. Gail Hamilton and Peterson's ambulance answered the emergency call. Coroner Lowrey was notified at North Warren after Mrs. Swanson's death. Her body was taken the Peterson mortuary. Specht's injuries were treated by Dr. C. H. VerMilyea of Russell, later by Dr. George H. Williamson, of 101 East street, Warren. Mrs. Swanson was nearly 38 old. In addition to her husband, she leaves two sons, Herman, 15, and Robert, 4; three daughters, Minnie Orphalene, 17; Helen Alice, 13 and Frances Versal, 8; her mother, Mrs. Sophia Hulings, of Kellettville; four sisters, Mrs. May Greenawalt, Kellettville; Mrs. Gladys De Hart, Schenectady, N.Y; Mrs. Irene Martin, City; Mrs. Allene Kahle, Clarington, Jefferson county, and two brothers, Forest Hulings and Blaine Hulings, both of Jamestown. on May 10, 1928.5
