He later worked for TWA Airlines and subsequently obtained a nursing degree from Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institutes. He was a licensed nurse, having worked in Alaska, Arizona and Wisconsin for a total of eight years. He had recently become a licensed realtor in Southern California, where he worked for Fairway Realty in Winchester, Calif. for one year. He was an avid outdoorsman and was previously the fire chief of Highland Wisconsin Volunteer Fire Department. Catherine was an LPN Supervisor for over 30 years at Springfield Hospital Center and retired in 1985. She was extremely active in the MCEA (Maryland Classified Employees Association). She was an avid reader, enjoyed puzzle books and especially loved spending time with her family and friends. Her survivors include her children Carlton Poff and his wife Carol of New Windsor, Brenda Murphy and her husband Don of Conway, SC, Susan Lowery and her husband Jim of Westminster, Barry Poff and his wife Vickie of Dagsboro, DE, and Bryan Poff and his wife Melanie of Westminster. She is also survived by her brother Coman Rogers of Sykesville and 9 loving grandchildren and 16 loving great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 10am. She was predeceased by sisters Marie Carroll, Hazel Leedy, and Dorothy Poff and brothers Carlton Poff and Hubert Poff. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 21 , 201 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Linwood. on July 20, 2015.⁸
