In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Alicia Neal; a sister, Rita Gautier; a brother-in-law, Roby Gautier; and a special friend, Rosetta Light. She was employed with Food Time in Narrows as an assistant manager, and attended Cornerstone Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband, Jackie Lee Neal, Sr; one son, Jackie Lee Neal, Jr. and wife, Alicia of Peterstown; three daughters, Kristi and Barry McGuyer, Lori Neal and Jimmy Cornwell, and Ashley and Jason Robertson, all of Narrows; one brother, Waddie and Barbara Robertson of Narrows; one sister, Ruby and Jackie Evans of Peterstown; seven grandchildren, Tyler and Abbigayle McGuyer of Narrows, Kalyn and Landon Neal of Peterstown, and Zachery, Jacob and Broderick Robertson, all of Narrows; a mother-in-law, Vivian Price; many special nieces and nephews; her friends at Food Time in Narrows; and special friends, Patty Hazelwood and Pearl Lucas. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. on February 25, 2005.2

Carlis Marvin Hale Carlis Marvin Hale, 79 of Blue Ridge, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 02, 2025. Carlis was born to Cebert and Algie Conner Hale in Floyd County, Virginia. He was one of seven children. He spent most of his adult life in Blue Ridge, Virginia. He was an entrepreneur and enjoyed buying and repairing rental properties. He retired from Norfolk and Southern Railroad after over 30 years of service. He was considered by those who knew him as kind, caring, giving and a neighbor to all. Carlis is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Edgar and Vannie Sue Hale; nieces, Becky Owens, Martha Beckner, Connie Wade, Teresa Gibson, Sue Justice, Carol Cladwell, Durene Chavarria; nephews, James Hale, Amos Hale, Michael Goad, Ricky Goad, William Goad, Samuel Hale; sister-in-law, Brenda Hale; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. Interment will follow in the Old Salem Cemetery.4 He was buried at Head of the River Cemetery (also known as Salem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery), Rt. 221, Check, Floyd Co., Virginia.4 He was born on April 25, 1945 at Floyd Co., Virginia.2 He died on February 2, 2025 at Virginia at age 79.4

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, who he always liked to tell people that he married when she was 14, Brenda Akers Hale; daughters, Brenda Sue Justice (Sam) and Durene Hale Chavarria (Mario); son, Samuel Hale; grandchildren, Davina Hall, Sarah Chavarria, Laura Chavarria, and Rebekah Chavarria; great-grandchildren, Abigail Morris, Nathanael Hall, Anna Hall, and Alaina Hall; brothers, Edgar Hale (Vannie Sue) and Carlis Hale; and special friend, Greg Janney.
