Surviving are his wife, Altha; two daughters, Mrs. Helen Elmore of RPD 3, Elkview and Mrs. Opal Warner of Charleston; four sons, Gene of Clendenin, Paul of Charleston, Edgell and Claude, both of Elkview; four sisters, Mrs. Ella Wilson of Ohio, Mrs. Lula Westfall of Nitro, Mrs. Lucy Taylor of Bonner Springs, Kan., and Mrs. Clara Bowman of Spencer; four brothers, William P. of Looneyville, Edward D. of Clendenin, Lonnie S. of Rand and Clyde E. of Belle; and 12 grandchildren. The body will remain at Hafer Mortuary at Elkview until one hour prior to the service. on April 12, 1957.6

"Gary" Givens of St. Albans; son, Gary Wayne Pauley II of Nashville, Tenn; mother-in-law, Barbara Givens of St. Albans; and sisters, Carol Coffman and her husband, Charlie, of Florida, Mary Baldwin and her husband, Clint, Linda Green and her husband, John, and Bobbie Elswick, all of Elkview. She had lots of nieces and nephews whom she loved to dote upon with love. They will all miss her deeply. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2010, at the Hafer Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Larry McCallister officiating. Burial will be in Elmore Family Cemetery, Dutch Ridge. on April 30, 2010.3

Michael Lee Elswick Michael Lee "Cuz" Elswick, 56, of Elkview went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 5, 2010 after a terrible mining accident. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Lee and Willidean Elswick of Warton. Michael was an employee of Massey Energy, dedicated coal miner of 36 years. He was a member of the Dunbar First Church of God and a very dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to all he met. Michael is survived by his loving wife of 36 years Bobbie Elmore Elswick, son Jeremy Elswick of Elkview, daughter Jami Cash and husband Philip of Elkview, grandchildren Justin and Hannah Cash of Elkview, sister Pam Miller of Warton, brothers Larry Elswick of Charleston, Steven Elswick of Warton. He will be very deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. God bless all the families who lost their loved one that herrific day at the UBB Mine. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at the Hafer Funeral Home, 50 North Pinch Road, Elkview, WV 25071 with Pastor Larry McCallister officiating. Burial will be in the Elmore Family Cemetery, Dutch Ridge.3 He was buried at Elmore Cemetery, Dutch Ridge, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.3 He was born on May 29, 1953.4 He married Bobbie Lea Elmore, daughter of Major "Pete" Elmore and Helen Norlene Elmore, circa 1974.1,2,3 Michael Lee Elswick died on April 5, 2010 at Montcoal, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 56.3,4

He was a retired boiler operator from Union Carbide, South Charleston plant and a graduate of Elkview High School. He was a member of Pinch Ridge Memorial Church. Surviving; wife, Evelyn Elmore Shaffer; son, Harrison Shaffer and wife Sandy of Roane County; daughters, Mildred Graves of Glenville, Ga. and Wanda Taylor and husband Ray of Teays Valley; sister, Audrey Copen Harvey, of Buckhannon; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grand- children; four great-great-grandchildren. on July 4, 2002.2
