Enjoying 57 years of marriage with his loving wife Marguerite (Margie), they raised four loving and devoted daughters, Michelle Kair (husband, Mike) of Wichita Falls, Rebecca (Becky) Lewis of Kerrville, Lynda Street (husband, Bob) of Sacramento, Calif., and Frances Diffie of Splendora. They also were blessed with four loving grandsons, Bryan Beckel of Wichita Falls, Michael Travis Emig (wife, Dawn) of Splendora, Larry Jacobs of San Antonio and Beven Kair of Wichita Falls. His parents, George and Ruth Jacobs, and a great-grandson, Justin Beckel, preceded Jake in death. During his life, he was employed for many years as a master electrician and prior to moving to the Hill Country, was an electrical inspector for the City of Kingsville. Jake was a Christian of the Baptist faith and he helped with many volunteer organizations and endeavors and had the distinction of being an Honorary Girl Scout. He will be greatly missed by many relatives and friends from around the country. on November 1, 2003.4

He was a candidate for the democratic nomination for the house of representatives, fourth district, but withdrew his candidacy before the recent primary. Surviving besides his widow, who was in Charleston with him, are two foster children, Margaret Frances and William. The body will be taken to Huntington for burial. on February 8, 1933.3

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 24, 2011 at Fidler and Frame Funeral Home, Belle. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Cross Lanes.
