She was a native Texan, born in Big Spring, Texas and has made Zachary her home since 1965 where she lived to the age of eighty nine years serving our Lord. She is survived by her children, Martha Anne "Marty" (Doug) Williams, Abilene, TX; Linda Arlene (Tom) Shanks, Wichita Falls, TX; Roberta Lee "Robbi" Stewart (Tim) Flynn, Irving, TX; Joe David (Beth Pullig) Hitt, Baton Rouge and Steven Miller (Beth Shepherd) Hitt, Baton Rouge; 13 grandchildren, C. Todd (Miriam) Williams, Micah Shanks, Shay Shanks (Willis) Hogan, Chantel Stewart (Jerrud) Arnett, Shelly Stewart (Juan) Hernandez, Darren Seth Stewart, Rachael Hitt (Matt) Dearman, Lyle (Anna) Hitt, Mason Hitt, Tucker Hitt, Mallory Hitt, Connor Hitt and Caroline Hitt; 12 great grandchildren and a niece Karen McCuistian, China Springs, TX. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lee Hitt, grandson, Paul Michael Williams, great granddaughter, Hope Hernandez, sister, Juanita Miller Conway and nephew, Larry Bob Conway. She was a member of First Baptist Church Zachary, a charter member of Zachary Chamber of Commerce and the Baton Rouge chapter of American Business and Professional Women. The interaction with people that came from marketing beauty products, insurance and real estate brought joy and accomplishment as she tirelessly worked to provide for the needs of her five children. An extended retirement allowed her time to become a faithful prayer warrior who loved the Lord as she daily lifted the needs of her family, friends, church, community and country to our great God, always giving thanks for the salvation and blessings of her life. Mom loved gardening, roses, family gatherings and making quilts for each of her grandchildren. The ladies of her Sunday school class had a very special place in her heart as they shared lifelong friendships around the study of the Holy scriptures. on November 5, 2014.⁴

Dudley Mullins, pastor of East Fourth Street Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Park. She was born on Feb. 23, 1927 in Big Spring, and married L. B. Conway on Oct. 22, 1946. Mrs. Conway was a lifelong resident of Big Spring. She worked in insurance and real estate for 27 years. She had worked for McDonald Realty and was a homemaker. She was a member of East Fourth Street Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, L. B. Conway of Big Spring; one son, Larry Bob Conway of Big Spring; one daughter, Karen McCuistian of Big Spring; one sister; and two granddaughters. on April 28, 2001.⁷

     Rufus Henry "Doc" Miller Jr. was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas.^2,3 He was born on July 20, 1922 at Big Spring, Howard Co., Texas.^2,3,4 He married Jacquelyn Lynn "Jackie" Parker circa 1956.³ Rufus Henry "Doc" Miller Jr. died on September 17, 2002 at San Antonio, Bexar Co., Texas, at age 80.^2,6 He SAN ANTONIO - Rufus H. "Doc" Miller Jr., 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002. Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Mr. Miller was born in Big Spring in 1922 and was a 1943 graduate of Texas A&M. After graduating he served in the Army during World War II. He was a large animal DVM in the Texas Panhandle and later worked for the USDA. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Jackie Miller. Survivors include his children, David Miller Sr., Janet Sue Capps, Terry Miller Garza, Mary Mike Fritze and Monty Lagunas; his grandchildren, David Miller Jr., Ginger Garza, Justin Lagunas, Alexa Rabbs, Clint Capps, Haylee Jordan Fritze, Riley Fritze, Madison Fritze; his great-grandchildren, Jacob Miller, Elise Miller, Kadyn Garza; and his faithful dog, Barney. on September 20, 2002.³
