Erma was a retired Kanawha County teacher and an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Hansford for many years. Survivors: son Donald Lee Smith and his wife Loretta of Pratt; granddaughter Barbara Higgins and her husband Robert; great grandchildren Stephen Higgins and his wife Katherine, Stefanie Miller and her husband Joshua and Stacie Higgins and great-great grandchildren Michael, Mary and Margaret Higgins all from Richmond, TX; also her niece Virginia Tompakov and Great nephew Mark Cogan; sister-in-law Jean Rollins as well as several cousins.
