Manning, Norris Poff, Mintauts Reinis, Gary Feulner. Mrs. Manning is survived by her husband, Carlton Reece Manning; sons, Michael Manning of Stockbridge, Ga., John and Doris Manning of Etowah, Tenn., Donald and Marie Manning of Athens, Ala; sister, Betty Jane McDowell of South Dakota; grandchildren, Rachael Manning, Jacquelyn Manning, Jake Manning all of Ga., Travis Manning of Arlington, Va. and Jocelyn and Barrett Barnett of Tenn; step-grandchildren, Alison Manning and Derek Long of Ala; step great-grandchild, Taylor Long of Alabama; sisters-in-law, Jo Ann Poff of Vinton, Maxine Lee of Georgia; brothers, Alvin Manning of Roanoke, and David Manning and wife, Betty of Boones Mill; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Archie and Betty Simmons of Boones Mill; and nieces and nephews.Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. David Ford and the Rev. Tony Emmons officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.      David Ray Manning David (Sallie) R. Manning, age 76 of Boones Mill died peacefully at home Sunday, September 15, 2019. David was the baby boy of deceased Grover and Retha Manning; brothers, Carlton and Arnold Manning; sisters, Maxine Lee, JoAnn Poff, Becky Reinis. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Spradling Manning; daughter, Angela Manning and friend Jim; brother, Alvin Manning; and sister-in-law, Betty Simmons. David is also survived by many precious nieces and nephews; special friends, Doc Blanchard and Dewey Bryant. No words can ever express our appreciation to all of our fierce prayer warriors in different churches, individuals, friends, and especially our precious Boones Mill Church of the Brethren where Dave served as usher, Trustee, and Sunday School Secretary. We express our appreciation to Lewis Gale Medical Center doctors and nurses and Amedisys Hospice for the special care given to Dave. Dave loved to hunt, as everyone knew, and he loved God's beautiful creation and enjoyed seeing the deer, turkeys, birds, bears, etc. We will really miss him, but we know he is in God's loving hands now with no more pain and lots of clear breaths from now on. Please do not bring food to the house, but you may take to the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren Fellowship Complex where a meal will be served after the service. In lieu of flowers, send donations to the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren in Dave's memory. A memorial service will be held at the Boones Mill Church of the Brethren on Saturday, September 21 at 1:00PM with visitation at 12:00PM. Rev. Jerry Naff will be performing the service with remarks and prayer by Rev. She was a member of Salem Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted 12 noon Saturday, April 30, 2005 at Lotz Salem Chapel. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral home, Salem. on April 29, 2005.4

She is also survived by six grandchildren that she adored and loved dearly, Bobby Milliron (Nicole), Nancy Helm (Justin), Christie Bolton, Sarah Milliron, Connie Milliron, and Janie Milliron; six great-grandchildren; and sisters, Carol Nichols, of Bent Mountain and Agnes King, of Hot Springs. Connie was always striving to help others. She pursued her passion of helping others by going back to school to become an LPN, and retired from Roanoke Memorial Hospital Rehabilitation Center after more than 25 years of caring and comforting others. Connie was a member of Boones Mill Christian Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. The family would like to thank Kathy Hunt, Dr. Jack Bumgardner, Faye Turner, and Gareth and Cindy McAllister for their help in caring for Mama during her recent years. He was a lifetime member of the Boones Mill Rescue Squad having been one of the founding members in 1963 and serving as captain for over ten years. Mr. Milliron was a member of the Isaac's Masonic Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M. for over fifty-eight years. The family would especially like to thank Dr. Jack Bumbgardner, Dr. John Lystash, Dr. John Starr, Dr. Rene Fredstrom and the nursing staff of the CCU and PCU at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Manning was buried at Manning-Robertson Cemetery, on Wolf Creek, Narrows, Giles Co., Virginia.1 He was born on October 3, 1946 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2 He married Betty Lynn Robertson circa 1970.1,5 Jacob Wayne "J. W." Manning died on March 4, 2009 at Dublin, Pulaski Co., Virginia, at age 62.1 He Jacob W. (JW) Manning, 62, of Narrows, Va., passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 4, 2009, at Highland Ridge Rehab. Center in Dublin with Betty Lynn by his side, following a long battle with diabetes. He was born on October 3, 1946, in Roanoke, Va., a son of the late Rosco and Mary Craighead Manning. JW came to Narrows in 1970 and called it home. He loved old cars and motorcycles and operating his business enterprises, J.W. Manning Excavating Co. and Valley Enterprises, LTD. He was advantageous for adventure and doing the impossible. He will be greatly missed by those who grew to love him. His parents; a brother, Joe D. Manning; a brother-in-law, Johnnie Hogan; and his only son, Matthew D. Manning, Esq., preceded him death. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 39 years, Betty Lynn Robertson Manning; a sister, Mary M. Hogan, of Roanoke; a brother, Ted Manning, of Salem; a special family friend, Janet McNabb; and a sister-in-law, Becky Lewis, of Las Vegas, Nev; nephews, Chris Hogan, of Roanoke, and Robert Hogan, of Ridgeville, S.C; his family at Giles Dialysis Center; and his beloved Yorkie, Chelsea. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 7 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services, from 5 to 7 p.m. Private burial will be in the Manning-Robertson Cemetery near the home on Wolf Creek at Narrows.
