The shooting took place at 1 a.m. at Richmond's Oak Grove residence. Rodriguez said Richmond's bond, if any, was to be set this afternoon by Circuit Court Judge Kermit Locke. Police said Gravely was shot in the thigh with a .22 caliber rifle and subsequently bled to death while awaiting an ambulance. The shooting followed an argument and fistfight between Richmond and the victim's grandson, police said. Troopers C. R. Smithers and J. W. Reed are investigating. Gravely's body is at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home. Gravely was a retired coal miner and a member of the United Mine Workers of America.
