She is survived by a son, Robert F. Shay, Newark; a daughter, Leslie A. Shay, Wilmington, Del; and a sister, Nell Gray Kerr, Minneapolis. on August 31, 1991.3

Frymyer and Phyllis R. Wright, both of Lancaster. Services and burial will be private. on November 1, 1983.6

The daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. Charles E. Edwards, Mavis was born on December 25, 1906 in Windsor, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her husband, Champ E. Lester, who died January 18, 1944 and her brothers, Clyde Edwards, Paul Edwards, Bruce Edwards and Charles Edwards. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Dorothy and Robert J. Main of Waynesboro, Patricia L. and Frank Marshall, III of Martinsville; a brother, Hugh Edwards of Christiansburg; grandchildren, George L. Main, wife Susan and son, Jared, David B. Main, wife Jacqueline, and sons, Elijah and Andy, Rebecca M. St.Clair, husband Henry, and daughter, Alexandria, Frank Marshall,IV, wife Jackie, and sons Joshua and Ryan. Mr. Lester attended Averett and Longwood Colleges and graduated from Radford University. She taught in Montgomery County County Schools and for twenty-two years taught second grade at McHarg School in Radford. She will be greatly missed by family and friends, laughter and love were her trademarks. A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Saturday at the family plot at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg, followed by a memorial service at 1 p.m. at Presbyterian Church of Radford, 4th and Randolph Streets. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at DeVilbiss Funeral Home and at the church following the memorial service. on December 17, 1999.3

Conner, daughter of Hayden C. "Hade" Conner and Virginia Arrista "Rissie" Clemmons, on January 19, 1917 at Mercer Co., West Virginia.1,4,7,6 Luther Basham died on December 31, 1983 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 89.5,6 He Luther Basham, 89, of 509 Thorn St., Princeton, died Saturday evening in a Hinton nursing home following a long illness. Born at Pettrey, he was a retired Virginian Railroad carman and a member of the Kee Street United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Princeton Old Guard and a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Carmen. Survivors include his wife, Lola Conner Basham; three daughters, Mrs. A. K. (Juanita) Maynard of Princeton, Mrs. Earl (Eula) Beckett of Rich Creek, Va., Mrs. Viola Begil of Pipestem; one sister, Mrs. John Pettrey of Princeton; one brother, Maynard Basham of Columbus, Ohio; and one grandson. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens on the Bluefield-Princeton Road. Pallbearers: John Thomas, Dan Croy, Freddie Cox, Oscar Pritchett, Julius Hand, Melton Brookman, and Wes Hamerick. on January 2, 1984.6

Born June 21, 1919 in Killarney, WV she was the daughter of the late Luther and Lola Basham. Before retirement Eula worked for Tri-County Equipment Corp and attended First United Methodist Church in Rich Creek. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Juanita Maynard. In keeping with her wishes a private graveside service was held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton.5 She was born on June 21, 1919 at Killarney, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.5 As of July 3, 1939,her married name was Beckett.4 She married Earl McClintic Beckett on July 3, 1939 at Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.3,4,9,7,8 Eula Mae Basham died on January 21, 2019 at Peterstown, Monroe Co., West Virginia, at age 99.5
