He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Emma Virginia Bowles of 5210 Thirteenth street N.W; three brothers, Charles Bowles and Warren E. Bowles, both of Washington, and Kennie L. Bowles of Riverdale, Va., and two sisters, Mrs. Andrew Schaar of Amherst, Va., and Mrs. Edgar White of Roanoke, Va. Mr. Bowles was born in Amherst, Va., and came to Washington as a young man. He owned and operated the old Bowles dairy here for many years until his retirement about 13 years ago because of ill health. Until his latest illness Mr. Bowles operated a coal business on New Jersey avenue. He was a member of the Mount Vernon M. E. Church. on January 24, 1939.6

They came to Utah in 1942 to visit and decided to make Grantsville their home. Served in the Civilian Conservation Corps and he worked at the Tooele Army Depot as a fireman. He then worked at Wendover AFB as a fireman until he retired. He was a volunteer fireman in Grantsville for several years and he coached little league baseball. He went to schools in Backcreek, Roanoke Co., VA and then graduated from Andew Lewis H.S. in Roanoke, VA. He was an active member of the LDS Church holding several positions in the ward. He was also a postal employee and delivered mail to Skull Valley for 40 years, and received the "million mile award". He loved sports but preferred basketball games. He played basketball in school and was captain of the team. He is survived by sons, Larry (Susan), and Curtis Jay; daughters, Nancy (Bill) Byrd, and Susan (Tom) Ahrens; daughter-in-law, Judy (Lance Fisher) Millburn; 19 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; brothers, Hubert (Sue) Fisher, Thurman (Frances) Fisher; sisters, Carrie Coon, Frances Weaver, Lucille Palmer, Virginia Ann (Paul) Muse. He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Lance; granddaughters, Jamie and Ashley Marie Byrd; brothers, Charles Arthur, Melvin and Merle; and a sister, Gracie Ann. Interment in the Grantsville Cemetery. on May 3, 2000.3

She was a hard worker and loved going out to eat with her family. Family members who have died include her parents, Frank and Maggie Fisher; her brothers, Frank, Jr., Thurman, Merle and Melvin Fisher; her sister, Frances Weaver; her son, Kenneth William Coon. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Vicki Coon Burkert and William (Bill) G. Burkert of Blue Ridge; her brother, Hubert A. Fisher and wife Sue of Goodview; her sisters, Phyllis Lucille Palmer and Virginia Muse, both of Roanoke County; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Interment in Sherwood Memorial Park. on November 19, 2006.2

She is survived by her loving son, Ken Woodward (Linda) Roy; one brother, Hubert Fisher (Susan); three sisters, Carrie Coon, Virginia Muse, and Lucille Palmer, all of Roanoke, Va. She also had nine nieces and seven nephews. Mom also had two granddaughters, two stepgrandsons, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank O. Fisher, and brothers, Melvin, Merle, Thurman, and Frank Fisher. Graveside services were held at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden. on April 1, 2001.5
