Henry "Hank" Reeder, 65, 1402 Main street, succumbed at Mercy hospital at 5:30 o'clock Sunday morning. Death was believed to have resulted from complications following a fall here on August 7. Mr. Reeder discovered early last Tuesday morning on the bank of Duck Creek, under the Pennsylvania Railroad bridge, just northwest of the railroad's North Anderson street crossing. He was found to have been suffering several head injuries and a broken hip and has been unconscious since the accident. Born December 6, 1880 in Indiana, he was the son of John and Rachel Reeder. He was employed at the Jimmie Peele Cigar Store. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Ruth Sowash of Elwood and Miss Ruby Reeder, also of this city, and one grandson. Funeral services will be conducted from there Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Edward Van Buskirk will be in charge. Burial will be made in the City cemetery. on August 13, 1945.4

Final rites were held at 10 a.m. this morning at the Fiaher Brothers Funeral HOme in Lapel with the Rev. Richard Stedman, pastor of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church of Lapel officiating. He was a member of the Oakford Baptist Church and Quarter Century Club at Stellite. Also surviving are one daughter; June Arlene Bitner of Maylene, Ala; one son, Kevin Scott Carlile of Jacksonville, Fla; and 10 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Beverly Ann Wood, one son, Larry Gene Carlile, one sister, Orpha Davis Carlile and one brother, Floyd Carlile. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Fenn & Shirley Mortuary, Colonial Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. The Rev. Arley Mitcham will officiate. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. on August 9, 1998.4

Survivors include one son, Kevin Scott Carlile and his wife, Susan, Jacksonville, Fla; one daughter, June Arlene Bitner, Maylene, Ala; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, Larry Gene Carlile; a daughter Beverly Ann Wood; one great-great-granddaughter, Jennifer Benson; two brothers, Floyd Radabaugh and Marion Radabaugh; two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Stella Flick. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road, with Pastor Jess Horner officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until service time on Saturday.

He was born on Jan. 10, 1925, in Greentown, the son of the late Henry and Lavonna Carlile. Francis served in the United States Army during World War II and was part of the clean-up of Japan after the atomic bombs were released upon Japan. On Nov. 23, 1947, he married Jeraldine (Huddleston) Carlile, and they spent 68 wonderful years of marriage together. Francis had a small farm just outside of Greentown and was one of a few farmers to raise Belted Galloways cows. He retired after 25 years of service from Delco, where he was a security guard. He enjoyed breakfast on Sundays with his family at Richard's Restaurant, and he also enjoyed the "Guards Breakfast" when he was able to attend. Francis had a passion for flying his plane and enjoyed fox hunting. He never knew a stranger and will be missed by all who had the privilege to know or meet him.. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Jeraldine Carlile, Greentown; children, Marita Etherington, Galveston, Dianna (husband Jay) Evans, Kokomo, Teresa (husband Scotty) Burns, Tipton, and Richard (wife Lenita) Carlile, Greentown; grandchildren, Christina Jones, Danita Hall, Harley Griswold, Josh Evans, Justin (wife Kelly) Marcum, and Richie Carlile; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Robertson, Galveston; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, one son-in-law, and one grandchild.. A funeral service to celebrate Francis's life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2015, at Sunset Memory Garden Funeral Home, with David Stout, chaplain at Century Villa Healthcare, officiating. Burial will follow the service with military rites conducted by the United States Army and the Kokomo VFW. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.. The family would like to thank the staff at Century Villa Healthcare for all the wonderful care they gave to Francis over the past 11 months. on September 8, 2015.1

McQuiston, Herbert F. McQuiston, Robert L. McQuiston and Richard J. McQuiston, all of Kokomo; and three sisters, Margaret Jones of Walton, Kay Long of Mount Comfort and Mildred Arnold of Robertsdale, Ala. A brother and two sisters preceded her in death. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Ellers Mortuary.      Betty V. McQuiston Betty V. Conner, 56, 1810 N. Washington St., Lot 28, died in St. Joseph Memorial Hospital at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1981. She had been a patient in the hospital since Aug. 11. Born in Kokomo Sept. 11, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Lewis McQuiston and Lida (Stevens) McQuiston of Kokomo, who survives. She was married in 1960 to Donald Conner, who also survives. Other survivors include three daughters, Lisa Piercy and Vicki Conner, both of Kokomo, and Valerie Conner of Toledo, Ohio; a son, Stephen Conner, at home; six brothers, Glen McQuiston and Herbert McQuiston, both of Greentown, Robert McQuiston of Burlington, Richard J. McQuiston and Charles McQuiston, both of Kokomo, and Kenneth McQuiston of Goldsmith; five sisters, Clara Parks and Anna McQuiston, both of Kokomo, Margaret Jones of Logansport, Kay Long of Indianapolis and Mildred Arnold of Windfall; and two grandchildren. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ellers Mortuary with the Rev. Albert Neher officiating. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery. She was a homemaker and worked at Haynes-Stellite Corp. She retired in 1974 after 25 years of service. She was a member of Morning Star Church, the Quarter Century Club and the Trinity Broadcasting Club. She lived in Goldsmith from 1962 until 1996, and from 1996 to 2002, she lived on East Boulevard in Kokomo. She is survived by two daughters, Juanita M. Rouse, and Linda L. Smith and husband, DeWayne, all of Kokomo; Sheryl Bunch and husband, James, of Kokomo; Laurie Wampler and husband, Norm, of Kokomo; Christine Johnson and husband, Larry, of Kokomo; James Allen Morse and wife, Lanelle, of Kokomo; Donald Ray Weaver Jr., of Lancaster, Calif; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands; one son, Donald R. Weaver; one grandson, Jerry Wheeler; and two sisters. Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home, Lincoln Road Chapel, 1315 W. Lincoln Road. Pastor Mike Dominick will officiate. Burial will follow in Kempton Cemetery. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. on March 16, 2005.1
