Converse, 57, Orofino, a section worker for the Camas Prairie Railroad, died at his home here Monday of a heart attack. He was born Sept. 4, 1905, at Ponoka, Alta., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest M. Converse. His parents farmed there and in Montana until 1932, when they moved to Ahsahka, near Orofino. He was employed by Potlatch Forests, Inc., as a woodsworker until 1944, when he became a section hand for the railroad. He was married to Verdie Kaiser here July 1, 1944. He was member of the Church of Christ of Orofino and the Lewiston Eagles Lodge. Surviving besides his wife are a sister, Mrs. Louise Wolfe, San Francisco; a stepson, Francis Campbell, Kamiah, and five step-grandchildren. Burial will be at Lewis-Clark Memorial Gardens at noon. on March 6, 1963.6

He is survived by his wife at their Lewiston home; a son and daughter-in-law, Donnie and Renee Baker; daughters, Jeanna Wakefield, Colene Kaye and son-in-law, Ed Fackler. He is survived by brothers Allen and Keith Baker and also by his loving grandchildren, Kristi and Jonathan Biggers, Chad and Lisa Fackler, Donnie and Brad Baker and Tiffany and Ashley Fackler. He was also blessed with one great-granddaughter, Aurora Biggers. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie Baker, on July 7, 1977; a sister, Shirley Whitman; and a brother, Wayne Baker, who died in World War II. He will be truly missed as he was loved beyond measure. He has gone to be with his savior, Jesus Christ. There will be a memorial service at a later date at the Elwood Cemetery on Texas Ridge near Deary. on November 6, 2001.6

Carole was married to Donald Benton Baker Jan. 14, 1950, in Asotin. She sacrificially and lovingly cared for Don for many years until his death Nov. 3, 2001. Carole was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church and enjoyed antiques, things of history and making connections. Her greatest passion was for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Donald D. Baker and his wife, Renee, of Tigard, Ore; daughters Colene K. Fackler and her husband, Ed, of Tigard and Jeanna M. Wakefield of Lewiston; a devoted and loyal son-in-law, Dan Wakefield; grandchildren Kristi and Jonathan Biggers of Centralia, Wash., Chad and Lisa Fackler of Portland, Ore., Tiffany and Ashley Fackler of Tigard, Donnie Baker, U.S. Marine Corps, of San Diego, and Brad Baker of Tigard; two loving sisters, Evelyn Thompson of Lewiston and Beverly Halford of Sacramento, Calif; and many nieces and nephews. She delighted in her three great-grandchildren, Aurora, Jotham and Jackson. One son, Johnny, preceded her in death. Burial of ashes will be next to Don at Elwood Cemetery on Texas Ridge. Carole was a loving and devoted mother, and at the end of the day she was still Don's sweetheart kitten. on March 12, 2004.2
