He was an employe of Ossit Furniture Company in Bluefield, Va., and was a member of the Church of God. Surviving in addition to his parents are two sons, Ronnie Pigg and Larry Pigg, both of Baltimore, Md; one stepson, Ray L. He had retired from the Crane Creek Tipple and was a UMWA member. He served 2 1/2 years in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was the Past Commander of the VFW Black Rock Post 3112 in Bramwell, W.Va. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Beckner; two sisters, Irene Duncan and Ora Johnston; and three brothers, Louis, Verlie, and Bill Beckner.
