Services were held Oct. 10. Glenn was born May 12, 1926, to Albert and Ethel Seay Uhrig in Weiser, Idaho. He was the eldest of four brothers. Glenn was a veteran of the United States Army, serving his country during the later years of WWII in Korea. Glenn married Ruth Elmer on April 7, 1973, in La Grande. They made their home on the Uhrig Family Ranch on Crane Creek, east of Weiser, Idaho. Glenn was a vital part of a successful cattle operation with his brother, Kenneth, until the ranch sold in 1996. At that time Glenn and Ruth purchased the Oberteuffer place on Stubblefield Mountain and moved there with some of their cows in January 1996. Those who knew Glenn say he loved serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ whom Glenn had given his heart to many years earlier. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Uhrig; sister-in-law, Linda Nutter and her husband, Mike; brother-in-law, Howard Elmer and his wife, Cherie; several nieces and nephews; brothers, Robert Uhrig and his wife, Micheline, of Pelican Rapids, Minn., and Kenneth Uhrig and wife, Judy, of Weiser, Idaho. He was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Uhrig in 1965. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shining Light Ministries, Tanzania, Africa, in care of Loveland Funeral Chapel, 1508 Fourth St., La Grande 97850.
