Mr. Dixon retired from Berkeley County School district in June 2006, but remained active in teaching as a substitute teacher at Wando High School in Charleston. He was also a volunteer at the Berkeley County Library. Tom is survived by his wife, Rita; son P. J; daughter Carie; brother David Deeds; sister Julia Sue Teater; and three rescue cats. on August 9, 2016.5
