Rudolf Hatcher was buried at Canaday Cemetery, Glen White, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2,3 He Rudolf Hatcher, age 76, of Glen View, WV, passed away at the Beckley VA Medical Center on Monday, July 11, 2016. Born on October 5, 1939 in Dunns, WV, he was the son of the late William P. Hatcher and Rachel M. Johnson Hatcher. Mr. Hatcher was retired from the coal industry, having owned and operated coal mines for 17 years. He had also worked as a superintendent in the coal mines. He received an Associates Degree in Business Administration from Beckley College. Mr. Hatcher was a member of Glen White Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. Mr. Hatcher had served in the US Air Force and US Army Paratroopers and Special Forces in Germany and also during the Lebanese Crisis. Mr. Hatcher enjoyed welding, having worked as a government welder. He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Arland Hatcher, a half-brother, Oris "O.D." Johnson, and an infant brother, Joseph Paul Hatcher. Those survivors left to cherish his memory include his wife of nearly 59 years, Joyce Parent Hatcher; three children: Stephen D. Hatcher, Sr. and his fiancé, Carmelia Toney, of Crab Orchard, Karen L. Frye and her husband, Charles W., of White Oak, and Sharon G. Pinardo and her husband, Michael J., Sr., of Shady Spring; two brothers: Douglas Hatcher and his wife, Shirley, of Flat Top, and Vernoia Hatcher and his wife, Carolyn, of Rock Hill, SC; five sisters: Virginia Lilly of Roanoke, VA, Ina Mae Durham and her husband, Martin, of Beckley, Mary Evelyn Vaught and her husband, James, of Beckley, Serilla Barnett and her husband, Frank, of Christiansburg, VA, and Betty Stafford and her husband, Jim, of Bedford, VA; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren also survive, with a great-granddaughter on the way. Burial will follow at Canaday Cemetery at Glen View, WV. Grandsons, Jason, Brandon and Coty Frye, Michael, Austin and Bryson Pinardo will serve as pallbearers. Peggy Carlene McCaleb Peggy Carlene (McCaleb) Parent of Crab Orchard, WV, passed away at the age of 69 on Wednesday, June 21, 2018. The youngest of 3 children, Peggy was born on November 10, 1948 and grew up in Sophia, WV. She graduated from Sophia High School in 1966. Peggy married the love of her life, Larry Parent, in 1967. They celebrated 51 years of marriage this past March. While she held various jobs over the years, her favorite role by far was that of homemaker, wife and mother. Peggy and Larry have two children. Their daughter, Carla Parent Rotsch resides in Charleston, WV with her husband, Steve. Their son, Kevin Lee Parent lives in Crab Orchard, WV. She was a doting grandmother to one granddaughter, Halee Brooke Parent. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, family was everything to Peggy. In addition to her immediate family, those left to cherish her memory include her two siblings and their spouses as well as brother's and sister's-in-law. Peggy also has a large extended family of nieces and nephews whom she adored. Peggy enjoyed going on family camping trips when her children were younger. She took pride in planting flowers around her home and enjoyed watching birds that would come the many feeders she placed throughout her yard. Peggy enjoyed all kinds of music and loved to dance. Peggy loved her pets, and over the years had many dogs and cats. She loved being around the water, whether it be the ocean, a lake or the back yard pool. Peggy had a way of making everyone feel welcome in her home. No one ever left her house hungry, and you didn't walk out without first getting a big hug and a warm smile. She was a kind and nurturing person and her sweet spirit touched everyone she knew.
